2. Corporations--this includes banks--are required by law to manage risks on behalf of their shareholders
3. The Government promised to 'guarantee' the loans. That means the government pays loans that are in default. That's you, the taxpayer.
4. The banks correctly assessed this massively lowered the risk of default and gave student loans to anyone with a pulse. They really don't care if you pay or if Uncle Sam does.
5. Letting dumb poor people into college has suppressed the value of a college education.
6. College grads can't get decent pay anymore.

The whole system is fucked and it's not going to get fixed by telling people to 'pay up'. Best to start building the labor camps if you're going to stick with that attitude. (you'll pay for those too, and (((they'll))) still benefit.
