Waste of time if you're an insurgent/rebel to wear a helmet.

You want to look like everyone else, then attack with concealed weapons and flee, if you intend to be near the targets.

I don't think fleeing works if you have a permanent place of residence.

Unless your trying to sneak keep this as a backup and get a modern day ballistic helmet from surplus or so, same kinda design (they're based on the stahlhelm) and it's better than steel

Maybe for sentimental reasons.

But for the head protection angle, you may want to invest in a more modern model.

You're not in the Wehrmacht or SS, you have no reason to wear it. Use a modern helmet as they're based on this design anyways.

>To me the shooting is restrained, they only killed two and shot the legs out of a few of them.

More than 20 people were shot that day - it was one of the bloodiest scenes in all the hohol habbenings. You can find more videos online, filmed from different perspectives - you can clearly see that the shots were being fired from behind the protesters - which would point that the ones firing were located in the main protester HQ, hence not at all government police snipers. The radio chatter from the actual police snipers went mad as well that day, as they did not understand who was firing at them and at the protesters.

If you also take into consideration the fact that there were a couple of videos that surfaced on jewtube showing operators speaking in English in Kiev, fully loaded with weapons and body-armor, you'd jump to the conclusion that the whole thing was just another Blackwater-sponsored operation.

(((Ukranians))), sure. Same thing happened in the '89 revolution in Romania, when snipers started firing at the peaceful protesters, triggering a bloodbath that pilled up more than 1000 deaths. The same modus operandi was in place - have a couple of (((terrorists))) start shooting at the civilians and at the army, then start pitting them one against each other, using fear and paranoia as a scare factor to further enhance the conflict.

Moreover, PMC's were contracted to train the Ukrainian army after the conflict with Russia started - what were they doing in Kiev, fully armed and loaded, in the middle of the fucking Revolution?

Well it does make sense tbqh. Andriy Parubiy is a complete snake and it was in his own interests to give the firing order that triggered everything later on. As far as I can remember, Parubiy is the same guy that fucked up the entire probe regarding the incident - mainly from his position as lead chairman of the parliamentary investigation.

>We now know (partly from MP Moskal) that – on the pivotal day of February 20, which will remain the main focus of this report – sniper shots first hit police forces, and came from buildings Parubiy controlled. Ukraine’s previous head of the Security Service (SBU) Alexander Yakimenko said so in March, after fleeing to Russia. When the Commandant proved unable to stop the sniping, which everyone claimed to be against, Yakimenko says he offered to send in a unit to help. He only needed a guarantee his men wouldn’t be shot by Parubiy’s, but he says that was denied. From all this, the SBU chief deduced the snipers were under Parubiy’s command and protection.

Pretty god damn sad when you look at it - the revolution was confiscated by a bunch of larping neo-nazis then handed over the the kike overlords. Parubiy himself was the co-founder of the Social National party - also known as Svoboda, before joining Fatherland.

Thanks for the info, anon.

Resisting shock (blunt force, centrifugal force) has a lot to do with the pad and strap system used in the helmet. It's the reason only certain pad and straps are authorized for your helmet in the military. That or some don't provide enough standoff for back face deformation.

I'm a firm believer in wearing helmets when you can. Had a cinder block dropped on my head and survived since I was wearing a MICH.

helmets will protect you from a variety of dangers, just don't get shot in the head with a rifle and you'll probably be safe. Also, tomahawk spikes will absolutely go through a kevlar helmet.

>>134072825

Pretty sure Parubiy was indeed involved in the investigation. I believe I found that infuriatingly laughable at the time.

The kikes tend to infiltrate any populist uprising, it's ironic their useful idiots this time were actual neo-nazis. Just look at how many of those fags have dual Israeli citizenship.

if I remember right, helmets only really work for gracing shots or very long distance shots and shrapnel, while the kevlar in body vests are only good for 1 shot.

So yeah, armour is too heavy to really be useful in modern warfare, most insurgent fighting wont involve that much artillery so helmets arent even necessary.
>>
If you're going into a full-on battle with explosives, bombs, etc, then yes, wear the helmet. If you're just getting in light skirmishes and firefights, then the helmet is only going to weigh you down. If you're going to be trudging through the woods searching for food like the rest of us, then keep the helmet and use it as a pot to boil food in.

99% of the tactical gear people have collected will sit at the back of a closet waiting for a future scavenger to come upon it. Lack of food, clean water, and diseases will be your #1 enemy in a post-anarchy scenario.

That helmet will identify you as a man who needs to be stabbed and looted early on, so keep it in a duffel bag.

Its not the best design. Too much of the helmet is flat, and easy to penetrate by rifle fire. The only thing the Stahlhelm has going for it, is neck protection - though it really wasn't suited for Trench Warfare Bombardment, or marksmanship.

I had difficulty finding the image and name of this helmet (my memory is shit), but it greatly resembles the British Mk. III design issued for the D-Day British and Canadian infantry.

You want sloped surfaces.
This helmet is too damn flat, and a pain in the ass to camouflage. The idea of camouflage is to hide contours, but this helmet couldn't be a bigger pain in the ass for it.
>Ridges and slopes like this on the same damn helm

Mind you, Steel is different from Kevlar. One is meant to crumple, the other to deflect. I prefer the deflection designs, as the intent is to not take the full kinetic hit of a bullet, and therefore also the bullet AND its hydrostatic shock.

Blocking bullets is the worse case scenario. The kinetic energy of a bullet is what makes it lethal, you don't want your body to absorb it all, if any. Here's what you want.

>Angled surfaces allow displacement and deflection reduce bullet lethality

You definitely don't want to wear that. A lot of German soldiers threw them away or just didn't wear them because they're heavy and sometimes a stray bullet would get caught in the side and rip around the side of their head, killing them.

Buy a modern helmet or wear none at all. If you're on flat ground fighting with small arms, it's of little benefit to wear a helmet. They mostly protect against falling debris from explosions or from falls. A rifle round would punch through that German helmet like a tin can.

Buy a Kevlar vest and a rifle. That's all you'll need.
>>
>>134055690
Yes you larping retard.
1. it wouldn't protect you very well against gunshots (if it would protect you at all, I doubt it would deflect anything).
2. It's noisy because branches make a lot of noise when they hit metal when you're innawoods
3. It makes you stand out.
4. It's a collectors item, not something meant for modern combat.
Get a good ACH made out of kevlar or if you're a poorfag get an old PASGT. Those will actually stop pistol rounds and won't be as noisy assuming you have a cover for them.
Also, you need to visit /k/ more often so you won't feel the need to ask these retarded questions.
>>
>>134078146
Well padding of any kind will only work up to a certain point since your brain can swell on your skull if hit hard enough.

Best advice: don't get hit on the head.
>>
>>134068783
>dude check out my range of motion
>>
>>134078146
Also to add to my former point, using titanium plates for your torso is an excellent idea as it works much better than ceramics since titanium doesn't shatter after it gets hit. Some will complain about the price point but it offers fantastic protection, combined with kevlar your torso is basically bulletproof.
>>
Surplus Mk6 Uk army is good and relatively cheap modern kevlar armor. Just add some padding for comfort. Anyway you won't need an helmet in most situation, it's just for Larping. Just go exercise like an autist with your AR, ammo, bug out bag, helmet, just go for 10 miles and come tell us about it.

You're neglecting that the purpose of armor is to disperse the force of a bullet evenly across a wider area as well as to keep it from penetrating. Steel plates have a higher density and do this better. Steel plates with a layer of kevlar behind them do a much better job than some composite metal.

Nah, I guess not. If shit hits the fan, I'll probably wear my father's old Vietnam-era M1 helmet that he smuggled back to the States with him.
I'll need to get a plate carrier at some point, though. It'd be kinda retarded to have a helmet, but no body armor. Any suggestions?
