Israel does something in return. It foments instability in the region. It creates crises. It prevents the Arab world from uniting.
Which means the US gets to do what they want. They want Arab nations to be dependent on them for protection. They want them weak. And they want to force them to go along with the petro-dollar system.
And in the long-term, attempt to control the destiny of the region. A region which have had conflicts with Europe for millennia. And it has great geopolitical importance. England battled for influence over the Middle East with Russia for a almost 100 years period they called "The Great Game".
And yeah, Israel has its own interests in the region too and they might have gained too much influence on US politics. Probably not as much as Saudi Arabia though.
