Game of Thrones is just a re-telling of the ACTUAL British/French War of the Roses, with some history before that thrown in, and magic, dragons and shit diced in for fun.

The "others" (lich king/night king) are Scandinavians, who sailed the north of Britain thousands of years prior to the War of the Roses, and it's likely people had forgotten about them long enough for tales of 'white haired gaunt people from the unexplored ice regions to the north' to circulate as near myth.

The North is obviously the Scots, the Midlanders/river folk are welsh, the eire is the Irish, who in the actual war of the roses didn't get involved much. Obviously, the Lions/Lannisters are the English, the Tully's are French and the Dornish are a hybrid of Cornish and Spanish folk.

The show deals with Daenerys making slavery illegal in her travels, which is what happens soon after the war; British might is used to pressure the North African nations into ceasing slave trading, and the British navy is deployed worldwide to put a stop to it.

Also the representation of religion is accurate for the era - there was a great deal of decadence in the church which later on was challenged by a sect of highly pious worshippers that believed wearing basically nothing and doing charity work was the best thing to do, and that the Catholic interpretation of God was actually Lucifer in disguise; when Catholic clergy tried to treat with them, nothing worked (obviously) because they came clad in gold and fine wear and the 'sparrows' of the real world saw it as an insult / didn't take them seriously at all.

How could Ramsey not have scouts or someone at least to scout and tell him about coming of Sansa. also they portray Winterfell as some kind of untakeable Beast mode castle , yet it has one WOODEN gate that can be broken by like 7 battering ram smashes. Body piles also felt so much forced just for the sake of it. Like battle also felt that it barely had any man on both sides and it didn't even last alot of time for so much bodies to appear. Bodies were there usually in battles but never became mountains or hills of bodies,it was just something to shortly delay or slow down units, show also forgets that armies aren't stationary people move up and down so those piles being on one place like that seems kinda weird. I mean i know they don't have the biggest budget on planet , but it should at least be done kinda properly. I also didn't like how Ramsey charged his cavalry on start and didn't use it to flank.

Too many characters. They show one story for about a minute and then it is off to another story. You can never get into anything. And too many times somebody is saved at the last second. There have been at least three occasions where an entire army showed up at the last second to save somebody, after having traveled for days probably. Quite a small margin of error.

GoT is a gateway series of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for normie, sociable faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the swords, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole knight faggotry and everything about the GoT world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average normie and their sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world.
