You really don't know? The European parliament has national parties, that work in coalition with each other that are these parties. All national social democratic parties are in the PES to have a joined voice for instance

Not a Europarty my friend. But they are members of the ADDE europarty (bang in the middle of the OP pic)

>>133991188
Basically this: >>133991356
They're parties of the European Union. They contain national parties as members. The EPP (main centre-right party) is the party currently with the most seats in the EU Parliament. PES is the main centre-left party, and it's the second biggest in the EU Parliament right now.

Then there's an extra layer of confusion... there's a difference between a Europarty and a Group sitting in the European Parliament (pic related is the groups). This is why the EU is so fucking shite, because their "democracy" is DELIBERATELY over-complicated (in my view anyway)

>>133991441
>The European parliament has national parties
The Europarties are supranational. Not national.

>>133991713
Hold a referendum like us, oldest ally.

>The Europarties are supranational. Not national.
I never stated that they were m8
>>
>>133992153
Oh right I think I see what you meant. MEPs represent their national parties, but together they form the supranational parties in the Parliament.

Although of course they technically form the *groups* in the Parliament. The Europarties are just agglomerations of national parties - the Europarties themselves have no individuals as members (apart from the leaders, like Jean-Claude Juncker being the leader of the EPP)

It really is so stupidly and unnecessarily confusing that you think they must deliberately want Europe's commoners to have no idea what really goes on in the EU, an institution which rules over them - which passes laws that bind them.

That's why I start these threads. To talk about EU democracy, which I think lots of Europeans don't know anything about, and that effectively means it's a broken democracy. Which I think is exactly how the EU wants it. They obviously see the commoners of Europe as the type of people who would start WWIII. So they think "we'll just do the work of government for you - don't worry your silly little heads about it, we'll just do what's in your best interest, trust us".

>I thought in the European elections we elected local parties to support us.
This is one of the biggest problems of EU democracy, in my view. They stand under the name of your local party. But in the EU parliament, they form part of big, international blocs (see pic related).
>Never heard the TV or newspapers saying anything about Euro parties.
Again, that's the EXACT problem. How can it be a proper democracy if people have no idea what they're actually voting for? Imagine you had a national election where your local candidates did not stand on a national platform - or that this platform was never mentioned in the press. You'd think it wasn't real democracy, right?

>Why is that shit allowed? It's just an economical organisation amirite?
The reason for lawmaking is this: if you don't have the same standards across countries (e.g. regulations on bananas, on financial services, whatever) then very often you can't sell from one country to another. Because they might not meet that country's requirements. So the idea of the EU's single market is that every country in it has the SAME regulations on all these products, so they can sell products/services to each other with ease.

MENF, APF, AEMN and EAF are all far-right. APF is fascist basically. MENF is Marine Le Pen. And AEMN used to have Nick Griffin.

Nigel Farage's one is the ADDE.
>>
>>133993366
>Btw I bet that party " Europe of nations something" are /ourguys/ right?
MENF (Movement for a Europe of Nations and Freedom) is Marine Le Pen's one - containing her Front National, and Austria's Freedom Party (FPÖ)

APF is a properly fascist one. Some Italian fascist leads it.

AEMN used to have Nick Griffin when he was an MEP. I think the British National Party are still affiliated with it.

EAF has Geert Wilders and his party, the Party for Freedom (PVV).

ADDE is Nigel Farage's one.

Yes, it's all very complicated, which is another reason why EU democracy is utter bollocks, and the EU is basically not democratic/accountable at all.
>>
>>133995198
What a clusterfuck. EU pls die.
>>
>>133997352
I doubt it will die though. Making it more democratic would be very good though. They'll have to at some point to quell the backlash.

That's Marine Le Pen's one, so good choice.

>>134007430
The APF is fascist I believe.

>>134007846
They're very different though.
The European Free Alliance (EFA) is unique - it's composed of regionalist/independence movements. E.g. the SNP (Scottish National Party), the Republican Left of Catalonia (supporting Catalan independence), etc. Almost all these parties are left-wing by the way.

The European Alliance for Freedom (EAF) is something Geert Wilders set up. So it's right-wing.

>>134008019
Replaced by the APF, pic related. It's led by the same guy.
