If the combined price of the meal reflects the salary that the waiter gets with decent tips, which they (both the waiter and employer) know the exact tip amount that is acceptable for that meal or whatever aswell as they know what is way below that or way above that. You no longer have to worry about screwing the waiter and will end up paying the same amount anyways.

If you feel a little large you can always in any case just make an actual tip because it was above average and if you don't make a tip the waiter isn't screwed because they still get paid. If it's bad service you just give a bad review and don't come there again, it takes care of itself.

Tipping as a compulsory part of the aftermath of a meal just makes waiters grovel around for some assholes that might choose to be a dick anyways and not tip whatsoever by their own discretion. It's a bit similar to like an employer saying "hey you did a good job but i can decide not to pay you shit for 1/3rd of the work you just did if i feel like it".

Weither that's directly given to the employer that then increases the base h/salary of the waiter as a result of it, or if you divided it up in salary and tipping.. it's essentially the same. I almost always tip 10-15% to taxi drivers, waitresses and barbers. Sometimes sligltly more, sometimes slightly less if it makes a round number.

The waiter and employeer know damn well the EXACT amount that is acceptable and when it goes above or below that amount.. Most non-restaurant shops turn this option off when the terminals are configured, but not all do so, especially at high-end fashion places.

Just increase the fucking price to reflect the tipping that fits with a reasonable take for a waiter, it takes care of itself. Decent customers will tip correctly anyways, might aswell just say no tips required as part of our salary, and then increase the price of the meal to reflect it. All this strife because the backwards way of not increasing the price to account for decent tipping, it's beyond retarded. Then the ones who don't want to pay the proper price will need to find another place to eat. And the ones who tipped correctly will end up paying exactly the same as they usually do.
