What has trickle down to do with capitalism? This is what's called corpratism. Just bow down to the richest and lower their taxes and provide them with subidies.

But that really doesn't seem to matter because lefties will just say:"But muh, trickle down doesn't work". to end the conversation. When they are asked what trickle down means they will just gerrymander their definition in a way that fits their needs at that moment.

In a free market system, the government does not control the flow of wealth except under extreme circumstances, mostly war. The government also does not create wealth. This picture might be somewhat representative of trickle down economics, but trickle down economics is not capitalism, nor is it a monetary system that anybody really advocates for except lobbyists. Its literally a gross distortion of capitalism, only possible through gaming the system. While other systems aside from a capitalist representative democracy might be less vulnerable to corruption (although I don't see any proof of this long term), they still aren't as effective as a relatively corrupt market system. A world class sprinter wearing ankle weights will still easily outrun a high school sophomore.

Trickle-down economics as laid out by Milton Friedman and Arthur Laffer stipulates that easing tax structures on investors and business-creating entities creates more jobs and generates more tax revenue at lower rates because the economy creates much more wealth. Reagan introduced this economic policy and it led to a 25-year economic expansion.

The reason our budgets started going to shit in the 1980s was because Democrats in congress wouldn't approve Reagan's economic policy unless he signed off on shitloads of pork-barrel discretionary spending. As usual, Dems wanted FreeShit and Reagan wanted the economy growing again.

If you have trickle-down economics, jobs are created by the thousands and the economy expands.

If you go the Democrat/Leftist route, government slowly takes over more of the economy and the government grows exponentially. Your college professors think this means prosperity. It only means more money for government dependents and government employees. Most people get fucked over economically and pay higher taxes.
