The government prevents people from getting weapons to defend themselves against niggers.
But what about body armor?

Keep in mind I don't have full plate as main suggestion, although that would be neat.
With recent savages' incursions to the european continent and its new pest problems well known by north and south americans, there should be care around self-defense like this.
Provided the cold of northern regions, euros don't even have the problem of heat by putting on more clothing. You should also look at how much masks are legally acceptable at your place, so you can have protection against acid attacks.

Soft armor is of dubious usage, the only way to surely protect yourself from bullet penetration is to use ballistic plates, and that ends up making the body armor heavy and uncomfortable. Also it doesn't protect you from limb shots or head wounds.

Guns are a whole 'nother problem. But, stil, there're the threats of lynching and the more dangerous stabbing. With body armor you can greatly diminish damage or outright negate it, depending on nature of attack.

Armor can also be created from many materials, to different degrees of durability. Even a mere leather jacket can help out.
A simple mouthguard, so easily conceivable, is the thing that will save your teeth in a bar fight. Depending on your circunstances, it's more probable that you'll use that before that old condom in your wallet.

It's "just" not possible sometimes. Often it's impossible, most likely.
Besides, people can't run forever. Decent people hide themselves up in some hole, you can BET the monsters will go after them. The government will drag the scum to your nice hidden neighborhood in no time, like they already do with cities, countries and continents.

just buy a chainmail vest with welded or riveted rings. you can wear it under clothes, pretty much unnoticeable if you're wearing a jumper or hoodie and shit's practically stab-proof, though your arms could get fucked if you're not careful.
pretty sure it's still illegal but the fact that it's really fuckin concealed (eg can't fuckin tell) means you won't get caught for shit. it has no blunt force protection, though.
