Linear/intellectual memes spread very well in conversation, literature, and academia, since these areas are typically verbal, literal and home to semi-stable social structures. However, they don't translate effectively into storytelling, television, images, or anything weird/ambigious because they are too exclusively verbal/literal and can't easily be expressed in the form of a symbolic pattern.
This is why you so often see the specific words and phrases that constitute the core of a progressive meme awkwardly jammed into a work wherever they can fit. A character in a Netflix original series might randomly spout off "actually, gender is totally separate from sex and both are in fact a spectrum, etc." because there is no way to symbolically express this thought in the flow of the story. The thought has no symbolic/mythic dimensions at all, it purely exists in the verbal/intellectual realm.
We've also all noticed the tendency for edgy communist image macros to have too many words pasted over an unrelated pop culture reference. Same reason -- "we must seize the means of production and establish a dictatorship of the proletariat" cannot be translated into a non-verbal form, so those specific words have to be there to convey the meme. Then, the value of the picture is sort of a does-not-compute to this meme style, so they just use something popular or superficially amusing.

Even though absorbing and repeating linear memes feels just like learning and teaching data, the initial creation of these memes does not feel like that at all. It feels like changing subjective reality by working out a fresh new mental lens with which to look at truth. The general ethos of postmodernism does not make sense when applied to the actual world, but makes perfect sense when applied to the linear school of memetics. It's no coincidence that the greatest creators of linear memes tend to either be postmodernists or be admired by them. This gives linear memetics a two-tiered social structure, ideologues at the bottom, passing linear memes back and forth, and postmodernists at the top, providing a steady stream of fresh content.
Due to this two-tiered structure of memetic spread, you get see two different statndard repsonses to conflicting memes. Rank-and-file verbal meme hosts will see competing claims as obviously incorrect ("haha what an idiot does he even read the news?") and become confused if a related argument strays outside the meme's general script.

The postmodernist meme-writers are more interesting -- each of them probably felt like they discovered the true secret of the universe when they learned to write memes ("the world is just made up of narratives"), and tend to assume that all competing ideas are part of a different verbal/linear meme structure just like theirs. When they encounter "traditional memes" like natural-grown cultures and ordinary religions, they don't see the symbolic and mythic components holding it all together -- clearly it's a bunch of memorized sentences because that's what their own memes are made of. If a culture has people who look like meme-writers, like priests or scholars, they are assumed to be rival postmodernist word magicians amorally controlling the sheep. If not, the original writers are assumed to have died off and left behind their memeplex -- this is what's known as a "systemic" issue. For example, systemic sexism refers to a supposed verbal memeplex written at the dawn of civilization consisting of sentences like "hunting for men, cooking for women" that no longer has a writer but persists because we pass the sentences back and forth every generation.

These ancient, headless memeplexes can supposedly be dismantled if we prevent enough of the component sentences from being spoken and introduce countersentences. This is exactly what's meant by "sexist language reinforces systemic sexism", it means that repeating component sentences of the supposed sexism verbal memeplex will spread it to new hosts. Verbal meme-writers who butt heads with external forces consistently percieve their problems to be caused by some ancient leaderless memeplex or another. When they can dismantle all of the great dead memeplexes that control the world, they expect that they will be able to write any story they like. Do you wonder why so many of these writers seem to specifically attack what is reasonable and natural even witout clear motive? This is that motive. Natural forces are seen as dead memeplexes, which are an impediment to absolute narrative freedom.

Leftist weaponry is only effective on leftists; specifically leftists who value their social position (peer status) above all else. If you don't care what people think they're completely ineffective. The endless complaining and the whole "everything is racist" autistic bullshit they have going on has created a generation of people who have been immunized against their shaming tactics.
Their "meme" is essentially 'the emperors new clothes'. They all know they don't work. No one will say anything for fear of losing their leftist social capital. Every activity of a leftists day is designed solely to signal how leftist they are and how big of an ostentatious display of collectivist ideology they can muster. Their social capital scales in value based on how in our out of sync they age with the current leftist priesthood. Given this fact they are limited in what they age afore to do and say. Their "memes" are nonexistent. Everything they do is a rehash of something successful someone else did. Like their pathetic toad idea.
To summarize- leftist memes will only work on leftists. This is not a fact they realize being narcissists and all.

You're right, that's why leftists spend all their time cannibalizing their own and never go after actually openly racist organizations. They want the social power that calling someone a racist and watching them scramble to apologize brings, and this works best on other liberals who think being seen as a racist is the worst thing ever. This only works a little bit on normal apolitical people who will say sorry once and then just ignore it because they don't care that much and will have the opposite effect on actually openly racist people who will go "why yes I am a racist, what of it cuck?" which makes the libshit lose social power so they avoid debating opponents like the plague.
