I've heard about a construction job where some psycho foreman made everyone wear long sleeve button up shirts and dress shoes during the summer in a southern state.
>>
>>133861714
No one needs to do that job. It is voluntary, and they know it is unpaid before they go through the rigorous educational requirements and interview process. Single mom can just drop her kid off at the local police station, and walk away without ever needing to think about it or pay child support. Yeah, I'm convinced, being a stupid and irresponsible whore and being given other people's earnings to compensate her for her stupid decisions sounds really rough.

Anything in the NHS, the DWP (or whatever they're called this week) or anything in local government. Education is also very easy, they'll take anyone with a degree.

What you need to do is get yourself a job where you're indispensable, but left alone. Council offices and universities across the country are full of these positions. If you're young avoid "graduate" jobs, they'll have you doing 65 hour weeks of pointless busy work for people who wear hair gel and go on holiday to Dubai.

Or you can come work for me. I have no real idea what I'm doing for one of my businesses so I sit in my office all day building models, watching sport and wishing the phone would stop ringing.

When you're talking about physical strain, anything that your body can't adapt to. You can build muscle to handle things like lifting and digging, but there are some jobs that just ruin your shit. Mining fucks up your back, wire wrapping fucks up your hands, shit like that.

When you're talking about what makes its workers the most miserable, any job that doesn't let you go home after your shift isn't fit for human life in this day and age. Let the crazier cunts do that shit.

You wouldn't last 1 month on my strength training routine.
Manual labour jobs are not hard, they're mindless. Mentally demanding jobs like being a petroleum engineer are much harder and demanding. The stress levels cannot be compared. There's no risk or potential for failure in manual labour. Your fuck up isn't going to cost tons of money to the company. You can be replaced in 5 minutes by some 70 IQ retard that can't spell his name.

Wait a minute, I thought this was a normal thing for white collar work.

I get to the office at 7AM, and even though I'm supposed to get out at 4, I don't think that's ever happened. Deadlines are so tight and there is so much in the pipeline that it would be an unforgivable sin to leave the office when we're supposed to. Usually I get out at around 8.

I typically do get overtime, but not always. At least I feel like I get paid enough for what I do.

Oh man, this hits right in the feels. We have poos subcontracted who work on our legacy back-ends for maritime equipment, which we need for clients who still have contracts with old systems. Trying to communicate with them is a complete time-sink. Think trying to explain high-level concepts of any sort to a 4-year-old. If an agent 'gets it' after explaining patiently 5 or 6 times, I consider that to be an achievement. Shit takes hours.

I don't think my company realises that they aren't saving much because of the man-hours put into training poos.

Exhausting long shifts underwater hauling/hammering oil pipelines together, often awful working hours (00am to 12pm for example), extremely cramped and isolated living spaces, stuck in said pressure regulated living space for a month at a time, dangerous work with regular brutal fatalities (including a few of his friends getting crushed by pipes or weights), no work consistency, constantly missing family events, regularly working in shitholes like Nigeria... Horrible work but generous pay.

As a plus saturation divers also get hired to do clearance diving on ships, so you have the mental trauma of pulling dead bodies around underwater.

This. I hate having to send my guys to do assignment in the rural areas of the State(especially Undercover). It could take us up to 25 minutes to respond even with our rotor wings. I do not allow Females in on the Task Force for that simple reason and the Colonel and most of the Senate Security Committee agree with me.

Oh, speaking of poos. During my undergrad years, I supported myself by teaching English to recent immigrants. They were mostly poos. I think being an English teacher is somewhat underrated in how difficult and draining it can be.

We used the term 'human tape-recorder'. It was basically following the same set curriculum for 40-minute lessons 6 or 7 times per day, every day. The 'students' either weren't paying attention or it wasn't within their mental capacity to even learn. Then there was dealing with cross superiors and co-workers, and the menial pay.

Teaching those classes was one of the things that originally redpilled me.

In Brazil, there's something called "bóia-fria", which is a strong candidate.

Those guys can be spotted in the back of trucks at dawn, while everything is still dark, going to work all day long under the scorching sun. Their function is to cut canes with long ass machetes.

They wear long clothes and gloves that boil them inside, with a hat protecting their eyes from sun light. Their boots are supposed to protect them from snake bites, as these animals are common in the work place. They have pitiful salaries and, most likely, are addicted to alcohol to keep going, the bar being right by the fields so they spend all money there. It's not uncommon to find slaves among them.

The bóia-frias may enter a trance while working, from the repetitive cutting movements and heat fucking up their heads, so it's not unheard of two of them ending up meeting in the middle of the fields and killing one another or severely crippling limbs.

I am an outsource for the Chicago PD and other investigative units because the city is so broke and have no money to fund their own groups.

PhDs like myself go into interview members of gangs, cartel, wanna-be gangs and family members before and after a crime has been filed or goes under investigation as a form of documentation and capturing of the psychological in the crime ridden parts of the city.

So it's not asking "WHO DID IT, TELL ME EVERYTHING OR WE WILL BREAK YOUR KNEECAPS!!"
It's asking, why, when and what on feelings, emotions, dialect and all other sorts of perspectives and emotions.

It's basically asking criminals, why they did what they did only to come to the same answers, they don't know and it stems from their education level, their environment and their socioeconomic level and finding the patterns.

Long and short of it all, Chicago is fucking FUCKED in 5-8 years with our forecasts.

I have indeed seen some shit, I've always debated posting up some write ups or green posts in the Chicago Police General but don't want to leak anything out that can get me in trouble.

It is really quite frustrating due to our goal that has basically been placed on our shoulders- that is, out of apathy from all the other departments in the situation at hand, mainly due to the Ferguson effect and notorious other cases.

It's frustrating due to the people and being on the front line and hearing their stories, their language and their own experiences that nobody gives a single shit to get out of.

It's disgusting because you see the realities of the Race - Culture - Wealth factor in reality.
How incredibly selfish and tribal these people are, even among their own city block.

We see the same people 6-10 times a month and nothing changes, we see kids "grow up" and are at a level we can predictions with 89% accuracy and correlation rate:
>who is going to be a gang member
>how far up the gang are they going to become
>survival rating and age where they go full criminal
>how many times in jail
>how many pass through of the halfway programs
>what level they are going to be a menace to their environment vs moving around or getting killed

Is teaching English in your late 20s and early 30s a career killer?

I got a worthless BA degree (political science, but graduated with honors), and a TEFL cert a few years ago, but haven't done anything with them yet. My plan was just to teach English for a year or two then return to the US and begin a real career or go to law school. That wasn't enough of a plan to motivate me to do anything(don't really want to live and work overseas, and getting into a decent law school seems like an impossible task), so I've basically just been wasting my life since 2011.

I recently got laid off from my dead end job in hospitality (job was contracted out), and have gone to several interviews, but no job offers (couldn't even get an unpaid internship).

Can teaching English open some doors? I've mostly heard it'll get you branded a loser.

You studied criminology I assume?
Whilst Trump has been treating your field right, he has indirectly given me a raise as well. I am an ecological urban manager / planologist. With all of the yadda yadda going on lately libtards have been pushing my sector more to create better sustaining cities in Europe.

I was in negotiation to get a green card, necessary academic worker. So I have been fucked out of that one, but I enjoy what I do.

If I had the possibility to go through university again I would pick up history - criminology, not for the job but the understanding of society as a whole.
>>
>>133882152
Political science?
Seems like you have to be creative, you could try journalism in Europe. They want to be spoonfed about American politics with Trump at the moment.

It's what most bullshit degree graduates do today.
When you've just graduated you can wiggle some into semi-related jobs as a starter. My example is definitely an option. Now that you're older you're somewhat fucked. Best bet is to network and find something you can use your study for, albeit it not being something you have studied for. Teaching English would be a waste as anyone with a bachelor can do that. You graduated with honours, go out and look at things like my example and don't hide behind the "no experience" excuse. Just sending out a resume never hurts, bullshit your way in.

It depends on what you want your career to be. The fun thing about teaching is that you can get creative, automate it to a large degree and do things on the side to further boost your income. Like journalism - start a blog or something that offers something of value and things may just snowball for you.
>>
>>133884155
Yeah psychology is a bit much of a stretch for me. As for the books part, same can be said for history. Although, with my current study I feel like I've never properly learned to write scriptions and do good research.

That said, I feel like I have found my dream job. Easy and fun job with my work being immediately visible in physical form. Dealing with destination plans and budget and acting like the middlemen for different parties can be a bother at most.

>>133883808

Not so much since they dive in teams and have a dive supervisor on com's the whole time. Most frequent deaths quick from being crushed under large metal objects.

>low visibility due to stormy conditions/night shift
>ship on surface lowering huge pipe on winch
>divers on sea floor ready to position and secure pipe
>big waves
>deep trough before larger-than-average wave causes ship to dip down lower than usual
>pipe below drops down quickly and crushes diver

Air supply/hot water umbilicals getting severed in similar situations also happens sometimes, so you drown or die from hypothermia. Or umbilicals getting caught in the ship's thrusters and reeling in divers before blending them - pretty uncommon but it does happen in stormy weather where the ship is moving around a lot and having to use a lot of thrusters to maintain position. Also if the ship sinks the divers are stuck onboard because decompression would kill them so recently when a diving vessel sunk the divers were given paper, pens and watertight zip bags through the airlock to write notes to their families and then left on board to sink. Shitty job man.

Not really, but it really shouldn't be a long term thing unless you're freelancing or working as a non-adjunct at a university.

Otherwise the big-box schools are there if you need decent money right away, but they aren't a viable long-term career option.
