I made two or three threads and had some fun and then forgot about it a while. My intention was to spark midwest identity on 4chan to shitpost and create memes that would spread to mainstream culture through 4chan diffusion. I guess I took a look at Brit/pol/ and how persistent that was and thought "Wow, the Midwest has a fairly homogenous population even larger than Britain. Why couldn't this work for the Midwest?"

A couple of other anons from Indiana had had the idea a while back and were working on twitter promoting Midwest nationalism, they saw my Midwest Reich General threads and copypasta'd them to start posting on 4chan regularly, and now here we are.

I'm actually fond of the plain blue with the lame seal. I think it does need to be more iconic, but I think modern flag design is far too reductionist. In an advanced civilization, there is nothing wrong with a busy flag, but that flag needs to be distiguishable automatically. I think having so many states with blue field and shield has problems, but one federal flag with a blue field and shield captures the imagination and uses that homogeneity to our advantage.

A regional flag that incorporates the tropes of the subregional flags is much easier to adopt than a stark, alien, modern one.

You guys should already start on planning though. The more time you take for it the more focused you get on the long term goal, making it less likely to drop it altogether. But yeah, a meetup is already a great first step if you manage to get a bunch of us together.
