Is it even possible to make a movie that will receive wide release that hasn't been thoroughly racialized anymore?
Wrinkle in Time was one of my favorite books as a child but I will not be able to enjoy the movie because it has been refashioned into a tale of a brave young mulatto woman, and Oprah has been given a large role as Ms. Which.

But do the opposite its a movie where all the characters were written as White in a book and many have been radicalized and nobody is allowed to complain.
I mean I get that it is a Black director (Ava DuVernay) and she is allowed to cast whomever she wants but it is unfortunate in today's political climate that wanting a White director and White actors for a movie adaption of a book written by a White woman with White characters is considered unacceptable to even mention.
Is there any possibility this will ever change? Inb4 "this is the Jews". This is also women and minorities seeking representation which I can understand in an original work, but in an adaption this is like diversity-washing or something, which of course isn't a widely used term but whitewashing is.
