No idea. I've had this little theory that depending on the climate it would influence most people's openness. In the Caribbean they are very open, talk a lot and tend to be more friendly. Spaniards in comparison to a Caribbean are more reserved, yet can be open and talk. Yet in Europe, Spaniards are considered very friendly and open (they are farthest south in Europe). Maybe the coldness from others in the north play into them being more reserved/shy, and in comparison makes Spaniards seem very friendly.
