Around the World in 80 Days

Conan novels or pulp comics. Teach boys to be men and lust for women but know the full extent of their "uses", use their brawn if its the best solution, but don't be afraid to use your brains if they will serve you better. They will also learn that certain types of people are inherently evil and the ones who are typecast as evil probably aren't all that bad when you get to know them.

Lord of the Rings trilogy. Teach them about brotherhood and camaraderie. About doing things that seem impossible, about how a noble struggle can yield results you don't see until they come to fruition. Teach them about divinity while removing the authoritative ideals of organized religion. The same lessons about people learned from Conan applies here as well.
