CO2 emissions have been going up yes but this is nothing to do with fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are safe to burn as proven by the fact that the CO2 rate has gone up in the last 30 years and not really much before that. It has gone up because of renewable technology. Renewable energy clears land which causes carbon to no longer be absorbed. Fossil fuels don't take much land so this isn't a problem. Most CO2 is from land being cleared for wind farms.

Also, this doesn't make it a problem. A doubling of CO2 would cause warming of less than 1 degree. Which is GOOD. The human body performs optimally at about 3 degrees warmer than the global average temperature. For example, cold weather causes permafrost to form inside the brain that thaws and causes brain cell damage. This won't happen in a warming scenaro (which sadly sn't going to happen). Also, CO2 is plant food, and brains need plants to expand.

Global mean temperature is a useless metric when determining if the ENTIRE planet is warming. You know, the "global" part of "global warming". In the real world, increases in heat are directly correlated with human population density. It's almost as if human activity generates local heat (Urban heat island effect). Really makes you think.

What is climate change ? The weather is different in summer than winter

First, climatology has no coherent explanation or model of Ice Ages or how they happen, even though they are the single most dramatic feature of the Earth's climate. Its kind of like physics not being able to model gravity or friction - not a sign of a mature branch of science

Second, given that Earth's most dramatic climate feature is Ice Ages and they are a much bigger threat to civilization than extra warmth, how is extra warmth a bad thing, assuming we are causing it? I was in Death Valley recently, the hottest place on Earth. Plants thrive there if they have water - nowhere on Earth is too hot to support life, but some places are too dry

Third, google "CO2 fertilization." Plants need water mostly to "breathe in" CO2; when CO2 is higher, plants need less water. This is causing unprecedented greening of the world's arid regions, as measured by NASA via satellite. It also increases crop yields, as scientifically measured in greenhouse experiments. More plants = bad? Why?
