Regarding museums, KGB Museum (Museum of Genocide Victims) is rather cool, at least that's what others (and tourists) say. I think it is not about the kikes, but about the genocide of Baltic ppl during soviet occupation.

National Museum - everyone says it is meh, but I enjoyed it so idk.

Kaunas has War Museum and M.K. Čiurlionis art gallery in the same building. The building is also proclaimed as cool, won some interwar award or smthn

By the way, Vilnius' architecture is rather unique because it has a lot of Barrock churches and buildings. Barrock was the only style that came to Lithuania at the same time it did at Western Europe, so it was popular af and we have many buildings.

So you should visit Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. I think some catholic magazine proclaimed it as the most beautiful church in the world. It looks meh from outside, but looks glorious inside.

tl;dr give you short rundown how come there was a king, but it didn't turn into kindgom/empire. We had one king (Mindaugas was the name) that was recognised as a King by other nations/kingdoms/christian world. After his death, son wich legally inhereted the throne wasn't crowned, was replaced by his other two brothers (Algirdas ir Kęstutis were the names) they technically were high Chiefs what ruled over the country simultaniously, having rather clear distinction wich ruled west/north and wich ruled south/east of the chiefdom. After one of them died he left his son Jogaila (Jagiellon in polish) as a canditate or claimant for the throne. Just so happens Polish ruling class was in interregnum at the time and being afraid of outside influence wanted some ''token'' person to hold the crown. They suggested Jogaila to take the throne, wich he did, having quite alot of backup at the time he suggested Kęstutis and his son Vytautas to meet up in some castle and officially end quarrels, wich turned out into bloodbath as Kęstutis was strangled to death by Jogaila himself. Now you must understand that while having the title of both Polish King and High Chief of Lithuania Jogaila was never crowned as a king of all Lithuanians. After him, up until union, Lithuania remained Chiefdom as it didn't have had a crowned king. Closest to crowning was Vytautas (same guy metioned before as he eventually made peace with Jogaila, some casual civil war there and here, in exchange of ruling Lithuania under Jogaila) other then that there was none eligible as title of Hih Chief was passed by bloodline simultaniously with Crown of Poland.
