I agree something should be done about addicts but there are real people with real pain that these kind of witch hunts also affect, me being one of them. So far it hasn't affected me personally, but reading threads in chronic pain groups on social media shows there is just cause for concern. There are ways to check up on patients, drug tests and checking that their levels are stable and consistent should be enough. But patients are losing access to meds in the process of tightening up on script writing practices even when they've done nothing wrong. It's sad when those who are responsible are lumped in with those who aren't. That's all I'm trying to say. I'm all for going after irresponsible script writing practices to curtail addiction, just hope they don't go overboard.
