Don't reply to tripfags in general unless they say something VALID and even then it's better to not at all.

Don't reply to anyone talking about their personal lives. No one SHOULD give a fuck about what macaroon you prefer.

It's a fucking retarded law, but that's how it is.

Wait, this would be relatively easy to do or would not even come up. I think it'd be the court you'd be trying to convince, not the police, but if you possess the weapons, have to use them in a self defence, your circumstance comes under all the guidelines of self defence, they aren't going to sentence you to 20 years in the gulag on the off chance you bought a knuckleduster set for self defence. The law isn't that unreasonable.

>The law isn't that unreasonable.
It is.

Without saying too much, trust me on this one, I have extensive knowledge on this specific subject.

What the police test for is where the item is stored, so for instance if you got them from your bedside table, that'd be considered pre-meditated. The Copper I knew told me "Keep a big maglight next to your bed, you have a legitimate reason for keeping a maglight next to your bed."
>>
>>133481286
>talking to a footballer about how he scored the most goals in a game
>uhhhh actually someone scored more in Fifa once so yeah

>>
>>133481175
Heat of the moment. You can arm yourself with a weapon. "Premeditation" under the law is more for cases where that guy sat and waited for a burglar he saw coming in, knocked him out, threw him into a pit, and set him on fire. Arming yourself solely for defence in the heat of the moment isn't illegal.
>>
>>133479629
Why do they pretend that faggots, dykes, and trannies aren't less than 5% of the population?
>>
>>133481402
That is insanity if a copper said that to you. It's in the legal guidelines to self defence that the government published that arming yourself in the heat of the moment is not illegal.

"Revill v Newbery[1996] 2 WLR 239Court of Appeal

Mr Newbery was a 76 year old man. He owned an allotment which had a shed in which he kept various valuable items. The shed was subject to frequent break ins and vandalism. Mr Newbery had taken to sleeping in his shed armed with a 12 bore shot gun.

Mr Revill was a 21 year old man who on the night in question, accompanied by a Mr Grainger, went to the shed at 2.00 am in order to break in. Mr Newbery awoke, picked up the shot gun and fired it through a small hole in the door to the shed. The shot hit Mr Revill in the arm. It passed right through the arm and entered his chest. Both parties were prosecuted for the criminal offences committed. Mr Revill pleaded guilty and was sentenced. Mr Newbery was acquitted of wounding. Mr Revill brought a civil action against Mr Newbery for the injuries he suffered. Mr Newbery raised the defence ofex turpi causa, accident, self-defence and contributory negligence.

Held:

The Claimants action was successful but his damages were reduced by 2/3 under the Law Reform (Contributory Negligence) Act 1945 to reflect his responsibility for his own injuries."

Yeah, I understand fully. I know the law is extremely ridiculous and not only in theory since they've sent people like Tony Martin to jail before for genuine self defence, but I think we're envisioning different scenarios. Albeit, self defence should be relative to all scenarios where its required.

>The most recent case was that of Andy and >Tracey Ferrie. They were in bed when two burglars entered their home. Mr Ferrie fired his (legally-held) shotgun at the men. The couple were arrested but then released without charge.

>The judge at the intruders' trial said: "If you burgle a house in the country where the householder owns a legally held shotgun, that is the chance you take. You cannot come to court and ask for a lighter sentence because of it."

Depends on the gun lockers location and where you are when they decide to break in. It's hardly ideal, and assembling a firearm can take a long time. Atleast "long" when there's a person in your house, possibly trying to harm you.

I did a security gaurd course once, the guy teaching it was a complete paranoid lunatic who had done bodygaurding and knew everything. He had the legally owned gun in a box and cameras all round his house. He showed us a CCTV vid of himself taking out a machete wielding freak in a tesco which was fucking great.

He mentioned the famous case of that farmer who got in trouble for murdering an intruder, he said the reason why this happened is because the guy had been burgled twice already and so he booby trapped his house by removing half his floorboards. He made some crazy home alone situation so he could shoot the burglar and that's what got him in the shit.

He said as long as you know exactly what is legal and why you can shoot a burglar.

Sounds like a good bloke. Yeah, the law is absolutely terrible but still overstated on /pol/. The problem is that self defence should be relative for all scenarios where it's use is required, but there are scenarios in the UK where it would be virtually illegally to defend yourself under the law with anything other than your fists. Or the legally, you'd have to be a scenario where fists are your only option. There are obviously scenarios where, say a burglar broke in the dead of night, you possess the firearm in a gun locker under legal storage requirements and use it under all self defence terms of "heat of the moment", that wouldn't be illegal. But what if you're just walking down the road and you're attacked?
>legally owned gun in a box
Hate to say it m8 but this is illegal too. You need a gun locker bolted to the wall thats been inspected and approved by an FEO.

I think the state should have the right, they are backed by many professional opinions that he has brain damage and has very little chance of recovering to a terrible standard of life (deaf, blind etc). His parents should do the honorable thing here for their son.

His mom goes on about how there's an 'up to 10% chance of medication helping him' up to.. It could be 1%.

She is also goes directly against doctors as they say his brain has not grown in 2 months as she has 'measured his head herself'

I've followed this closely, it's an awful case for all involved. It's so clear that there is no way the extensive brain damage the poor kid has suffered is reversible, even the US doctor offering this highly experimental procedure (actually a food supplement which surprised me) admits that this is only to possibly combat the mitochondrial depletion syndrome, he's not offering anything else.

There's also the ethical question, whether the kid should be a human experiment of something completely untrialed. I've oddly seen a few on the "treatment" side supporting it because it would be valuable research. So they get all feisty about the state "killing babies" but have little qualm about socialistic experimentation.

Now it's gone beyond the pale, and the usual worms in the pro-life camp on both sides of the Atlantic are basically funding and giving the parents false hope. This is an extreme case but generally, parents can't always be the sole decider of a child's fate, otherwise we wouldn't need the various Child Protection services and charities we do have.

>Everyone who goes through cancer treatments suffer as well.
Cancer treatments which have been consistently shown to be effective as opposed to an uncertain experimental treatment.
Don't get me wrong, I actually think they should be allowed to try it because
>worst case scenario the terminally ill child dies >best case he doesn't
but the case against is a lot stronger than people make out. It's portrayed as callousness and inhumanity, when really it's a cost/benefit assessment weighing up likelihood of success against certainty of prolonged suffering.
Obviously the doctors backing the experimental treatment think it'll work, but how much of that is shrewdness, wanting to break new ground and go down in medical history?

The fact that people aren't engaged in EU politics shows that EU democracy is a failure

That's why Brexit happened - because EU politicians didn't do a good enough job of reaching out to voters and representing their concerns

Chat shit, get banged

It's not just the live of die question though. Who's going to pay for that kid if it survives to be 90 years old? It's a massive drain of resources not just the healthcare of the child but the parents won't be working, they will need a special purpose home built, and then the special 'schools' that people insist retarded people need.

Then multiply that cost by how many hundreds like him are born every year and carry it on over the course of their life times. It's the public who are funding all of this.

>2018
>Haven't heard the scores from todays Barcshes Mixed Race Mixed Gender Confederation Fluid Premier League, this year we feel like we belong in the AFC not UEFA
>Decide to watch Match of the Day
>Sit in excitement as the theme tune, now remixed by Dizzee Rascal and Rizzle Kicks plays over video of all the greatest goals by the leagues ethnic and gender diverse players
>The panel this week is Ian Wright, Emmanuel Frimpong and Clarke Carlisle
>Can't see clearly
>Turn up the brightness on my Television
>The increased brightness makes the pundits look more white
>Become offended, make a note to complain to the BBC tomorrow
>First game is league leaders Arsenal (the league is no longer based on points, rather on equality and diversity of staff and fans) and their star striker Maria Transduzkic, a sexually converted ex-man with a black husband from the former republic of Yugoslavia, against relegation strugglers Doncaster Rovers who began to slip down the equality table when a white person went to one of their games
>Clarke Carlisle jokes ''Doncaster Rovers? More like Don'tcaster Black Man!'' in reference to the recent television series the club produced where one of the actors was a white guy from England
>The highlights are shown, with commentary by Jacqui Oatley and the pundits begin to discuss the game
>Frimpong states that Doncaster have 'Utterly Diabolical Diversity' and then goes on to say that you'll never win anything with Single-Nationality CIS Kids
>Ian Wright brings up shocking statistics from the game
>They show that Doncaster had possession of the Friendship Sphere for 76% of the game and attacks them for not keeping it to exactly 50% each
>Doncaster manager is interviewed and states that he thinks the balance of his squad is fine as it is
>Laugh at him, because his squad is still 5% white, and turn off MOTD knowing that he will soon be relegated

Well again that's my point.

Of course you *can* vote, technically. But there's a massive problem - EU parties don't campaign on their own behalf. Instead, your national parties campaign. So the CDU puts up candidates and says "vote for us, we'll do this in Europe". But the CDU has hardly any power in the EU parliament. Only the big party they're part of - the EPP (pic related) has any power. The fact that the EPP don't campaign as themselves deprives EU citizens of knowing exactly what they're voting for.

I'm assuming that's how it works in Germany anyway, because that's how it works here, and I think it's the same across the EU.

Calm down you butthurt sperg, you've replied twice to me now.

Also, the kukri isn't some fucking magic sword from a fantasy series passed down only to elite soldiers. farmhands use them all the time you LARPing twat, and the police in Nepal and parts of India use them.

>hurr you gotta run up everest and fight a bear and skin it with the kukri before its yours

>Retard, the state has no business making decisions on behalf of parents.

Bollocks.

They do when a parent's actions affect a child's quality of life.

Not just in this case, but more common cases like abuse.
