1) I lost track of how many times I've seen people shit on the street. I think on average was once per two week period. I know Indians get a bad rap for this, but the Chinese do it too (at least children do). It's common practice for baby clothes in China to be "assless" on the pants so that babies can just shit wherever and whenever they feel like it (google this if you don't believe me). I've seen babies shit all over the fucking place. Chinese give two fucks about hygiene or anything and it's normal there.

2) Shanghai and Beijing are dirtholes. Any time you see a Chinese talk about how advanced or developed Shanghai or Beijing is, you should know right away that they're lying. I lived in Shanghai for a year, in Puxi (the main area of the city) right down by the Bund. Our company's office was on the Bund. I once saw a lady shitting in the bushes right outside the Waldorf Astoria (one of the fanciest hotel chains in the world - and the New York Waldorf Astoria now owned by Chinese). A guard came up to shoo her away and she just said "就是小便,就是小便“ which basically means "I'm just pissing." The streets of Shanghai are filthy, the air is poison, you have to dodge lifeless peasants driving cars running redlights, driving on the streets - it's mass chaos. I'm a white guy that speaks fluent Mandarin and it's amazing how many times people will try to cheat you EVERYWHERE you go in China. Especially South Chinese - they are the worst.

I've never spent any real amount of time in Japan so I can't comment on it, but I've spent many years in both China and south Korea.

Living standards in south Korea are better than China in pretty much every way, but the mindset of the people in Korea is much worse.

In many respects Koreans are even worse than the Chinese in terms of propaganda. The Koreans have more money and have had access to the US economy for 60+ years. The Chinese have never had that access.
