Basically V4+Croatia and Slovenia VS Russia, mini-Russias and southern Slavs? The odds aren't really in our favour

Just unite the western slavs into one country, then make Yugoslavia whit all southern slavs and merge Russia/ukraine/belarus.
Then put a union betwean these 3 larger states which idealy would be federations and then you get "slavia".

Romanians are by definition Thracian - also, the eastern Roman empire used Romania (without northern part) as a defacto capital. Yugoslavia part is really tricky. Bulgaria is going to be hard to unite, and religion is the greatest barrier in the ex-yu region. Croats and Slovenes wouldn't want to convert to orthodoxy and Serbs, Montenegrins and Macedonians wouldn't want to convert to catholicism. Bosniaks are a whole other thing. If we get atheism to be a thing in the ex-yu region and then try to unite all of the peoples into one "Yugoslav" ethnicity, maybe then it could work.

Romania (only the southern bit) was super important to the romans due to the danube- they built outposts all around it, but the real reason as to why Romania was chosen was because of its fertile lands, relatively easy to be conquered barbarians, and connection to the black sea. I said defacto because it was never seen as a capital per-se, but extremely important militarily (especially against the tribes of mountain barbarians to the north)

Alot of people already considerd themselves as jugoslavians in Tito's era, and if Yugoslavia would of existed for another 50 years then most nationalistic borders would cease to exist.

I don't think it'd work. It's already said that there are significant differences between western and eastern Slavs and between southern as well. Additionally if Poland became stronger before this there'd be disputes over Belarus and Ukraine (ritefuel polish clay).

AFAIK western Slavs are more libertarian, eastern more authoritarian, western are catholic, eastern are orthodox, latin alphabet vs cyryllic, . From subjective, western are more urban, eastern outdoorsy... Honestly I can't think of anything else.

Poles fought since 1795 to 1918 for freedom from Russian and German oppressors. Poles fought in 1939 to 1945 against Germans once more and 1945 to 1990 against Russians once more.
Poland would never insult their own ancestors. Probably for many Poles the line has been crossed and there cannot be any kind of assimilation with Russians, willing or not.
