Ending net nutrality will be the best thing for the internet. By making people have to pay extra for social media sites it may end up limiting the access to those sites due to some people simply not wanting to pay to go to facebook or instagram etc. By limiting access to those sites the social media/fake news machine will have less control over peoples lives.

Just look at what cable is already doing with bundling everything. If they are allowed to get control over the internet they will tear it apart real quick and that's exactly what needs to happen. The internet needs to be destroyed and rebuilt in manner that makes in decentralized and has a higher barrier to entry to keep the women and normies out.

Something low bandwith would be great imho. That would essentially kill "media" No more porn, No more stacey and her selfies. No more tyrone showing off his stolen shoe collection.

This is one time where capitalism can actually use it's power to destroy a greater evil.

>>
>people unironically think this will happen

Even if such a thing would happen a new company would be incentivized to sell non tiered unlimited plans and fuck over the large telcos. Billionaire overnight. Free market in action
>>
>>133361632
Just like how people set up telecoms to compete with Comcast right?
>>
This is bullshit propaganda.
Net Neutrality is just companies like Google and Netflix who are complete bandwidth hogs trying to get free access to as much bandwidth as possible while opening up the internet to public regulatory bodies.
>>
>Everyone will pay for it
>Sites like 4chan will be blocked by the liberal CEOs
>No porn
>But Stacey will pay for her selfies
>>
>>133361320
>By making people have to pay extra for social media sites
They won't make people have to pay extra for social media sites. They'll make people have to pay extra for using peer-to-peer-networking like bittorrent and outright block sites that they don't agree with. You can say goodbye to /pol/ because the jew-owned ISPs will obviously not tolerate the literal shoah that takes place here daily.
>>
>>133361320

How much do I have to pay for 4chan? I already have a Gold Account.

>>
>>133361736

Don't be stupid. There's no difference between Comcast's internet and telxos internet. However in this situation it would be different and competitive. Just the idea of someone offering regular unlimited internet would probably stop this FUD idea everyone has
>>
>>133361968
Except that Title II enables libcuck politicians to legally bar access to sites like 4chan. Because Common carriers are subject to the public regulatory body. Regulations can be changed by the body on a whim.

>>
>>133362497
No it fucking won't. Are you fucking retarded? The major content giants like Netflix and Jewgle are the ones pushing so hard for net neutrality because they want to defend their monopoly at the expense of the insane amount of public bandwidth they consume. The network providers are trying to get extra money out of them for the extra bandwidth that they use. Net Neutrality is literal corporate welfare.

Another side effect is that doing it via the "common carrier" branding opens it up to government regulation. And how is that working out in the UK? Do you want that?
>>
>>133361320
Down with net-neutrality. THe internet sucks now anyway
>>
>>133362342
>>133362467

Once net neutrality is dead, hopefully your ISPs will sell that data to credit agencies and they would affect your credit score to accurately reflect the type of individual you are.

If you are a productive person who visits educational sites and watches contemporary T, movies and documentaries, they would have a high credit score.

If they are a degenerate who watches anime, plays JRPGs and visits sites like 4chan, the credit score should be rightfully reduced.

Employers wouldn't want to hire someone who wastes their time and procrastinates. Hence all that new data would be very helpful to us in the hiring process.
>>
>>133362109

completely this, anything else is just obfuscating the point.
>>
>>133362957
facebook already does this.
>>
>>133361320
Because this strengthens the monopoly of ISP's.

It's important that we deregulate internet, but you're basically starting with something that prevents the monopolies from gang fucking you. If we're not going to remove all these regulations kikecast has that are preventing new ISPs from competing, then it's a huge mistake if what OP is suggesting happens.
>>
>>133362785
>Netflix and Jewgle
Those aren't monopolies dumbass. They're just the most popular choices so of course they're gonna use up a load of bandwidth.
>>

>>
>>133363647
Of course they don't. But that's de facto what you brainwashed net neutrality faggots are pushing for. And guess who gets to pay for Jewgles bandwidth in that case? You. Because ISPs will pretty much have nowhere to pass the cost on to but the consumer (anything else would be illegal at that point).

I'm not saying companies like comcast aren't complete fucksticks (because they are). I'm not saying there doesn't need to be some kind of regulatory intervention to prevent them from gouging people with their monopolies like they are now.

But net neutrality is a fucking farce. The campaign for it is just one lie after another. There needs to be separate law. If Google et al. actually gave a fuck about the end consumer in all of this they would be pushing for separate legislation (as you should be) instead of some shitty Title II shortcut that puts the internet under the gun of public regulation.
>>

>You can just not use Google.
If you go to any webpage that is supported by Adsense you are using google. Or pretty much any webpage with an interactive map uses google map services.
There's scant few ways to use the internet left without going through google to get there. In fact 4chan is literally the only one that immediately comes to mind.
>>
>>133363179
>what is big data
Tell me, who do you think buys all of that data? It's google.
>>
What a fucking stupid idea. This has to be a shill post by a Comcast executive. If net neutrality ends, sites like these (4chan, cuckbart and all these right wing sites) will be shut down and all you'll have left are the ones ((they)) approve of.

>>133364142
Companies like Google have an entirely different tier of service, the increased rates of data usage come from the fact that more and more people are on the internet and are more reliant on streamed content. Of course Google and such are reliant on this but it's not like they're hogging up all the data it's being used to stream content.
>>
>>133363729
Remember when they took unlimited data plans away? Ever wonder why they are bringing unlimited cellular data plans back?
Because ATT and verizon were losing too many customers to Tmobile and other companies offering unlimited data plans.

Stop being a retard and go outside.
>>
>>133364423
>this retarded meme again
ISPs don't care what you browse on the internet. They just want your money. In fact here in Canada they have fought tooth and nail over the years to hold back anti-piracy efforts.
Whereas politicians believe they are God's chosen to dictate what people should or should not do and think.
If anything is going to lead to internet censorship it's fucking Title II you fuckwads.
>>
>>133364281
Yes but what I mean is that companies like Comcast provide the service directly and companies like Google aren't necessary for me to use the internet, so their monopoly has a significantly lessened impact on what I'm paying and my experience.
>>
>>133362092
There are places where it's literally illegal to set up new telcos
>>
>>133361320
>everyone will be going to prison for posting on /pol/ and will be paying $1700/mo for dial up that allows them access to Bing and MySpace
>Tom will be your only friend and each additional friend will be $50/mo
This is how things were most of my adult life. We don't want to go back to 2015 when Title II was implemented. Reddit is also pushing hard for this to be upheld, so just know we're not alone in this fight.
>>
>>133364566
You miss the point: they are selling the data transferred over the lines. Why should they be able to transfer their PRODUCT for the same price as the internet I pay for?
That is what this is really about.
>>
>>133364566

>>
>>133364423

Net Neutrality, as it exists now, has only been in effect for almost two years. The internet was just as functional before as it is now and it will remain so after "Net Neutrality" is removed.

>>133364719
A monopoly de facto is a monopoly.

>>133364720

The issue isn't how bandwidth is handled. The issue is that the great telecommunication Jew appropriated vast networks of telecom infrastructure that was originally built on the public dime and then used it to build corporate monopolies while using public regulators to shut competition out of the market. That's what needs to be solved. Net Neutrality leaves that issue completely unaddressed and really makes me think.

The problem with this way of thinking is you're assuming the internet is the cause for the decline of the West, when really the moral fiber and integrity of the West has been degrading for long before the internet was created. The internet just exposes this decline more profoundly than any other medium. If you limit people's access to the internet you're not going to change people's character and collective worth/purpose within our society. People, still be feuled by vapid materialism and narcissism, will just find another outlet provided to them by the free market and the decline will continue. Unless you're in upper management at a big ISP, there's really no benefit to be from this

Mozilla uses tons of bandwidth to collect data from people using their browser, how do you think they make money from a "free" browser?
That data collection requires tons of bandwidth that they don't want to pay more for. Net neutrality forces those costs on everyone across the board, so you pay for Mozzilla to make money from your data.

You are either intentionally pretending to be retarded or beyond help.

You pay to get the service of internet connectivity to the greater world wide web. So does Netflix and Google. Comcast and their ilk are going up to Netflix and saying:

"Well, it would be a reaaaaaaaaall crying shame if anything happened to those packets while they come in to the users on my turf. Fo a small fee I can protect them and make sure they are delivered real quick and easy" and because mouth-breathers like you don't understand this Netflix pays up because people didn't immediately fuck Comcast's shit up for mafia-like protection racket schemes.

No you sod, that is not what I said or implied. The government in a rare moment of clarity saw that the internet was going to be huge and pervasive and that having it built out to as much of the US as possible was for the best. So they offered ISPs huge tax breaks on the singular condition that they build out networks that could support that growth.

The ISPs have screwed over the American public by reneging on their end of the deal but the NN rules have been dragging them along and forcing them to live up to their side of the bargain. If they are smashed (which the shills here are advocating for) the ISPs will be able to resume fucking over Americans while still not paying the taxes that would have been levied if the Act was not forged.

Those companies pay for a certain amount of megabits per second, not for the amount of data they put out. Worse, they're located in private datacenters like the several NAPs, and they don't even go onto the big 3 ISPs lines until the last minute to avoid paying. There was a huge debate about this with Netflix and their interconnect fees.

Either way, the reality is that they're fundamentally underpaying. Especially when you take into account the nature of the data rather than just the amount. For example, Skype lets you make free phone calls, and they pay a pittance to the ISPs while still using their internet network to make those phone calls.

Not only that, Skype didn't make a capital investment of literally billions of dollars, but they're still profiting off the ISPs

What the fuck are you even talking about? How are they under-paying? They are paying for corporate internet on the level of massive data center connects, and their agreement for such connections:

IS WITH THEIR ISP

If you had a leg to stand on it would have been Netflix's own ISP that made the big stink. It was not. It was Comcast literally holding their users hostage under the lie that Netflix was clogging up their pipes even though within 24hrs. the issue was resolved when Netflix paid their protection racket.

Okay, fine let's take your assumption that Netflix is really to blame at face value (Even though its bullshit): Netflix offered to install FREE SERVER BOXES WITH ALL THEIR MOVIES ON THEM TO ANY ISP

Free, but Comcast refused and demanded their shake-down money. It's almost as though Comcast is full of shit and doesn't actually want to resolve the clogging on an infrastructure level and just wants to change extra for mediocre service.

Net Neutrality FAQ:
1. Who supports NN?
Reddit, (((4chan mod team))), Google, Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Twitter, Snapchat, AirBnb, Spotify, etc. Notice how all of these groups are leftist.

2. Will anti-NN legislation "bundle" the internet?
No, this is a commonly repeated Jewish lie like "communism works". If a company "bundles" the internet, another one will not bundle and get all the customers, just as the free market intended.

3. Are they going to block/restrict/slow down 4chan?
No. They have the technology and legal basis to do this right now, but they aren't doing it. Anti-NN legislation won't change a thing.

4. We need to fight for NN or the internet will go into the hands of the evil corporations and Republicans!
Obama already gave control of the internet to the United Nation in 2016. This is still in effect.

There are some seriously buttdetonated motherfuckers ITT. OP is goddamn right and you know it. All you morons probably post in 1990's were the best decade threads, nofap threads, share "degeneracy on Twitterz" jpgs and complain about selfies.

We need to make it so only conservatives with jobs can use social media. Its to preserve the entire country. So many bloggers couldn't afford it, so many attention whores would be gone.

Once the ability for degenerate shitloads of attention goes away from white women they will become more willing to fuck people and have more babies. Nobody wants to pay 20 bucks a month for Tinder.

If you want to stop degeneracy than put your money where your mouth is because ending net neutrality is the best way at this juncture to accomplish degeneracy curbing.

This is just another Jewish fiction design to cause panic.

>4. We need to fight for NN or the internet will go into the hands of the evil corporations and Republicans! Keep the internet free and independent!
Obama already gave control of the internet to the United Nations in 2016. This is still in effect..

>>
>>133384499
You know, what you dont get is. A ISP only needs to supply like 200 websites to pacify the majority of their customers. Which means anything else can be designated to premium. Amazon, Google, Facebook they like NN because they dont want to pay Comcast to keep their websites on the basic plan but they will because they have the money to do so.

4chan, Britbart, Zerohedge, your VPN, Every alternate media outlet, that MMO you like that no one plays, Your TOR network you get on to buy drugs and Childporn. Everything that makes the internet interesting, useful and free, does not have the money to pay.

The abolishment of NN will remove 99% of the internet in a matter of years.

Net neutrality means all your data is treated equal basically meaning your ISP can't throttle or limit your traffic based on where it is coming from.

One example would be Comcast blocking all peer to peer traffic from bittorrent about 10 years back.

The biggest worry many about ending net neutrality is it would create "fast lanes" and "slow lanes" for internet where

A) Companies would pay isps for "premium" speeds and services
B) You would pay extra to access to "premium" speeds and services

if you're wondering what ISPs will do if net neutrality is repealed, we already know.

2005 - Madison River Communications was blocking VOIP services. The FCC put a stop to it. https://www.cnet.com/news/telco-agrees-to-stop-blocking-voip-calls/

2005 - Comcast was denying access to p2p services without notifying customers.

2007-2009 - AT&T was having Skype and other VOIPs blocked because they didn't like there was competition for their cellphones. http://fortune.com/2009/04/03/group-asks-fcc-to-probe-iphone-skype-restrictions/

2011 - MetroPCS tried to block all streaming except youtube. https://www.wired.com/2011/01/metropcs-net-neutrality-challenge/

2011-2013, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon were blocking access to Google Wallet because it competed with their bullshit. http://www.businessinsider.com/verizon-blocking-google-wallet-2011-12

2012, Verizon was demanding google block tethering apps on android because it let owners avoid their $20 tethering fee. This was despite guaranteeing they wouldn't do that as part of a winning bid on an airwaves auction. https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-tech/post/fcc-fines-verizon-125m-for-blocking-tethering-apps/2012/07/31/gJQAXjRLNX_blog.html

2012, AT&T - tried to block access to FaceTime unless customers paid more money. https://www.freepress.net/press-release/99480/att-blocking-iphones-facetime-app-would-harm-consumers-and-break-net-neutrality

2013, Verizon Iiterally stated that the only thing stopping them from favoring some content providers over other providers were the net neutrality rules in place. https://www.savetheinternet.com/blog/2013/09/18/verizons-plan-break-internet

Last mile problem, niggers. That's why you don't have 10 different ISP's to choose from and thus speeds fast enough to stream high def netflix 10 times over.

This bullshit "free internet" fight is between two groups of large corporations. On one side are the Netflix's, Jewgle (Youtube and Hulu), and reddits of the world, who largely use internet bandwidth. On the other side are the network transit providers, like Level 3, CenturyLink, Verizon, etc.

NN gives the first group HUGE advantage to dump whatever content they want onto the providers networks for pennies on the fucking dollar. And in the modern era of high def video streaming, thats a lot of fucking bandwidth.

Thats what NN is. The anti NN side is saying

>uh fuck no, if you want to dump all that shit on our networks you'll either have to pay for the increased usage, or work with us to put your content closer to the end customer (aka CDN/small scale datacenters).

But why pay your way/play fair when you can use your massive advertising reach to paint network operators as the bad guy and your jewified media company as the poor little oppressed innocent?

Don't fall for this horseshit, /pol/. Netflix, Google, and Reddit are not your fucking friends, you should already know this.
