Can someone help me out.

What is exactly the big deal with him meeting with someonewith the intentions of getting juicy info on their campaign opposition?

Is it a big deal because its against the law to openly do that in the US or is it because they were meeting with a supposed 'foreign' power?

What are they claiming he did wrong here? I honestly read it the first time and though yeah so someone said they had info on the opposition so he went to hear them out, who wouldn't do that?
>>

>>
>>133318500
I think it's because of "Hey, a foreign government tried to support a single candidate's campaign in a direct manner"

Which is bothersome to some people in the US because muh democracy

even though the US loves fucking up other people's democracy

Anyway it's a big deal because election laws and external funding/help entering US elections (last time it was a Big Deal was in 1997 I think, because China money entering elections)
>>
>>133319328
i see i see so if it could be proven that she was meeting with him on russian govs money, then that would turn out to be the bad thing
>>

She met with Obama officials days later:

>>133319701
already proven in a way, i mean oppo research is valuable so it checks the illegal box, as it costs time/money which you cant receive from a foreign power -- especially when done by a rival to influence our election. Any country besides russia, china, iran, a few other rivals but especially russia would not be seen as so sinister if they arranged this sort of meeting. But the thing is this is a hostile power that does spy networks in our country offering him dirt on hillary the obtained by spying on our government in exchange for us lifting sanctions on the visas and bank accounts of their murdering oligarch billionaires (magnitsky act). Not very easy to excuse. Also the Trumps were so dumb and lied about it. If they'd disclosed it early and spun it from there i'd almost admire their forethought, but denying it outright until you get slapped with all the gory details makes it look really bad, in addition to being illegal.
>>
Damage report?

What are the possible outcomes now that this information has come to light?

Neither. The person never represented themselves as being from a foreign government, and they weren't anyway. It's not against the law to speak to foreign nationals during a campaign, only to receive donations from them. He didn't reveal anything to them. He didn't even get anything out of them, regardless of legality.

It is L I T E R A L L Y nothing

Don jr literally nothing wrong. And the thing is, if the dems want to push the idea that he DID do something wrong, all they are doing is setting up a political backfire. Don just met with someone (not government official) who emailed him while Hillary's campaign had a whole bilateral effort with officials of the Ukrainian government to get dirt on the Trump campaign and construct propaganda. If they push to prosecute Don jr, they just open the door to get themselves in way deeper shit. All thats going to happen with this is the same as every other muh Russia hysteria. The media will run their mouths for a few days until they quietly forget about it once everyone realizes its yet another nothingburger
>>
No funds were exchanged, so no law was broken.

Receiving unflattering information about Hillary, or anyone else, is not illegal in itself, regardless of the source.

Quid pro quo has not been established by any of the allegations thus far.

We need more sauce to prove collusion...but we already know that the Obama DOJ colluded with Hillary's campaign. And we know that the corporate media and Google colluded with Hillary's campaign.

The fact that we cannot trust mainstream corporate media is firmly established.

Threads like these are comfy, where the OP already has a set in stone stance but wants someone to walk through the answers they like so they can pretend its a grand revelation.

It's just like playing Jeopardy.

Anyway, here is the real rub: It was a pretty basic tactic. You get information on a meeting that someone has that isn't explicitly criminal but could potentially be and you let it sit and you have people constantly probe that person on if they had any meetings like the one you already know happened and let them stack up the lies and then months later you put it out in the press that the meeting happened and boom, that person's credibility is shot.

Jr. fell for it hook line and sinker. The smug little idiot.

It's technically treason but don't worry the US doesn't follow rule of law so nothing will happen.

Trump himself could openly say hes selling nuclear weapons to ISIS at a live press briefing and Republicans wouldn't care.

It looks kind of bad, in the sense that it makes the Trumps look like stupid chumps.

But there's likely nothing illegal. I was actually listening to NPR on my drive home tonight and they had the guy who teaches public interest law at George Washington about it, and he made a pretty good case for everyone who's looking for a smoking gun being disappointed at the end of this.

I don't really care for the Trump administration for my own reasons, but everyone jumping on top of every single little thing and (incorrectly) stating that there are illegalities are only (1) setting themselves up for massive disappointment and (2) pushing public interest threshold further and further towards disinterest.

Essentially the more you yell and scream about something the less the public begins to care.

It's a big deal if he actively sought out foreign assistance to get juicy info. Except he didn't and the alleged contact turns out to be a Kremlin-connected agent that the DEMS (Obama-appointed ambassador to Russia) used to set up a honeypot (which is, you guessed it, collusion and treason).

>The little boy that cried Drumpf shit his pants too much already.

Agreed. I have a feel there's going to be a Chernobyl level melt down on the left after Meuller finishes his investigation. There will especially be on another forum that isn't anonymous on which I discuss politics because the general atmosphere is pretty leftist, and many of the posters are just not very knowledgeable when it comes to politics and government.

Also my geo flag would be US.

The left is literaly saying the thought that counts, not any actual crime...Has it occurred that she obviously had no info, so why was the email written with every trigger word known to the left...It's the most transparent set-up I can think of..Sending someone a Email that's full of shit is not a crime, nor meeting someone under false pre-text...
>>

The biggest issue is that Trump himself has said his campaign didn't have contact with Russia, and he didn't believe Russia was trying to help him. This doesn't actually contradict that, but it shows that they would've accepted (lawful help) if offered. If they were willing to receive a tip off about an investigation by Russian prosecutors, were they willing to receive tip offs about hacked materials?

However, besides being told this was help from the Russian government, nothing is technically wrong, especially since the Russian government wasn't actually involved and no useful information was shared.

Any campaign would accept dirt on their opponent, and in fact Hillary's campaign did this with Ukraine; there was a pretty direct line between Kiev and the Democrats regarding investigations into Manafort, which actually led to him being fired.

>so why was the email written with every trigger word known to the left.
Because it was a set-up to obtain the FISA warrant so they could spy on the campaign. Obongo Admin was pulling a Watergate while trying to make it seem legal.
>>
>>133329270
does not matter either way they are trying to conflate the statute of providing value, the problem is that it has to be material value ie gold, silver, a painting it has to be universally valuable a judge would throw the shit out.

Pol is a collective hivemind of failed individuals who come together over something basic as skin color. They are losers, and from this resentment escalates racism and other garbage ideologies. I look forward to war, as an upper class citizen, to purge America of whiney losers, both black and white, whom of which have no respect for the work and cultivation that defines the individual.

There's no big deal, it's just that after nothingburgers Russian narrative lost its steam so they're trying to keep it running somehow.

If you read the emails he released you see that the guy who arranged the meeting was likely a plant(and it was his claim that Russian govt wants to help Trump), the woman is part of "pissgate" related group(which was proven total bullshit) and in the end nothing criminal happened even if he literally met Putin and he handed him pendrive with leaked emails.

How I see it - they've tried to get him to think that that women was indeed Russian contact and he would act like he would normally act in contact with Russians, had Trump campaign colluded with them. Of course all of this was recorded, but the recording was worth nothing since there was no actual Russian contact before and that's why it isn't released.

However, speculation that there was some meeting is better than nothing when your narrative fails.
>>
The emails are proof that Russian was not trying to help them and that Obama, McCain, etc. were planning on framing the Trumps with this Russiagate nonsense from the beginning.

No, that is not against the law. Moreover, Hillary's campaign did exactly the same thing and the left doesn't care even slightly.

Basically, this is all the libtards have left to try to support their bullshit collusion claims, so they are pouring everything they have into it.
