1. BC forest fires are a bitch, most of them just burn out, you will need at least 2 bombers so that would require a fundraising drive of about C$3mm to make a serious go at it.
2. BC govt. really hates it when other provinces send volunteer units let alone aid money, so a NGO directly jumping into BC without being invited is going to lead to a bunch of problems. The people would need to file a public petition for outside Aid, so there is a "reason" to get engaged. This worked well with the Fort McMurray fires.
3. My immediate suggestion is Leaf's reach out to an Alberta PAC or NGO who worked on the Fort McMurray fires and see if they want to launch a money drive to hire Montana.

If you get enough momentum from /pol/ to launch this (or even just the Leaf VPN Proxies) it is reasonable to hire MARS

Government needs to spend some serious capital on new aircraft.
Ones that are faster than the mars and can hold newer fire retardants the mars can't. It would need to have smaller loads as well so it can have more versatile drop zones
Also I would say BC wildfire as a whole would do well to make a more hardcore hiring campaign for BC crews members.
We should also be more willing to train Californians too so we can hire them without fear of them not following safety guidelines. They're fearless but it costs them injuries and lives
We need to spend more on technology infrastructure. Some systems are outdated and running the satellite internet at the camps needs to improve. We need more appropriate technology as well.
Prescribed burns would help more if we could see where fires are going to be in the future. We can so I would focus on prescribed burns a little more often near the towns and cities that get hit most often or have few roads to get outta dodge.

yeah except the fact that like only 5-10% of the actual fort mac city burned down, and the rest was just smoke damaged, and still liveable/workable, the downtown/business core was completely untouched, and the fire was mostly contained to the outskirts.
But once people knew that the majority of residents were out of town they took it upon themselves to go and rob every liquor store in town, even though there would be no insurance protecting a business that got their windows smashed during a forest fire evacuation.
