The logic is to utterly crush and discredit Trumps political revolution so that no future takeover of one of the major parties ever happens again. The GOPe has an especially vested interest in this, since it is their position of power that was threatened. Now they're going to get their guy in the end anyway, just as intended since he was first forced on Trump as a running mate in exchange for nominal "support" from the GOPe during election season. Isnt all that pretty obvious by now? Havent you learned anything from your time on /pol/ about how these people operate?
