Because all this is, is the same thing the Clinton campaign did as well, and in Podesta e-mails there you find proof of actively getting help and wanting opposition research related stuff from Ukraine as well as Qatar.
Politico and CNN both reported on that in January and even wrote negatively about the Clinton campaign because it backfired.
Trump Jr. one didn't backfire because there turned out to be no help in the end.
Both are embarrasing and make both campaigns look naive and stupid but that's all.
