The first paragraph sounds damning, but if you read the article there's no evidence of illegal activity. The lawyer wasn't a government official. It looks more like she's just Russian, and was acting independently. She may have said she had negative information about the Clinton campaign, but that doesn't make talking to her a crime. Getting dirt on your opponent is standard procedure in a political campaign. If they had been making plans to hack the DNC that would be different, but this was just a conversation. It's perfectly legal, and the only reason it's news is because the media is absolutely rabid to find some shred of evidence that poor Hillary was robbed. It'll be old news by next week.
