They got oil, they got grasslands for grazing, they got lots of land for development in case it gets too crowded in other states, there's plenty of farmland when it's not in a record drought; plus lots of old nuclear storehouses where a good portion of the US's old nukes are stored. Instant bolster to our military might.

This is not including our based neighbors in ND and SD, since most are ethnic Germans and Poles. Also some of the least ethnically diverse lands out of all the proposed Midwestern Reich. So yes, incredible mistake to try and not add the Dakotas.
