If you have money and live in the right areas surrounded by the right people it's pleasant enough if you can endure the ceaseless hustle and bustle and light pollution that comes with living in any city.

If you don't have money and you have no choice in where or how you live you're going to have a shitty time unless you specifically have a lot of good friends there to socialise with.

All my friends moved down there. When I lived there around them and I had some money in my pocket life was pretty good.
You can go out and eat great food, drink good drink and it's fun and exciting and you feel alive.

But it just was not worth having to traipse through what is basically the middle east, sit on a stinky bus surrounded by stinky fucks babbling in any number of languages just to get to work. It wasn't worth having to pay out the arse for a pint of beer. It wasn't worth being crammed into trains that were over filled, always late and stupidly expensive.

In the end I left for the countryside and I've been much happier since.

Basically if you can't afford to insulate yourself from all of the absolute human trash that dwells there you're wasting your time and money living there when there are hundreds of pleasant towns and villages in this country to choose from.
