That rests upon the assumption that race realism is focused solely upon IQ as the only good: it isn't.
IQ is simply a measure of difference which can easily be shown. It is also an explanation of large social trends.
If your proposition were true, then all the people in the past were stupid. Racism is the historically default view, and all our culture and civilization has risen from that. Call them stupid if you may, but I wager that nearly every historically important figure from 150 years ago+ was racist in their views. So it is not necessary that racists are stupid. That includes Africans, too.
You must look for other factors.

To be honest it's entirely logically consistent with race realism that low IQ people would be racist because it is evolutionarily advantageous for individuals without good problem solving abilities to simply not trust anyone from any different tribe than their own because they're not going to be able to successfully work out which ones are beneficial to interact with and it's a better survival mechanism to simply avoid them.
