I never understand how people think this about Prager. No, that's not true either. They're not idiots. Okay Beck is an idiot but Prager isn't. What these people are, this whole genre of Neocon, is, as Buckley put it, people who dramatically overestimate the role of the United States in the new millennium.

If there is any single consistent failure of the American mainstream Right, it is that, in a nutshell. Overconfidence to the point of absurdity. Overconfidence in our moral virtue. Overconfidence in our power. Overconfidence in the attractiveness of our culture, in the potency of the "American Dream," in our heritage, in our ability to assimilate immigrants, in our peoples' longevity as a power. Every single thing is overestimated. If these people would actually stop for a moment and LOOK at what is fucking happening without the red white and blue tinted glasses on they'd wake up, but they can't. Too much of their identities are contingent on a set of axioms that are factually fucking incorrect but they can't let go.

I don't hate men like Dennis Prager or Glen Beck or Bill Whittle (actually I like Bill) but I want them to fucking turn off the baritone voice and the eagles screeching in the background for a minute and look at what I'm looking at, because God knows I've been trying to see it their ways for twenty fucking years and they haven't returned the favor once.

Just... Fucking look. Just try to understand, God damn it.

I have been trying to talk him up, he's an invaluable resource on many things. We disagree less than a quarter of the time because of the Zionist neocon warmongering. However, that doesn't matter. On everything else he's golden. I'd like to argue on that point since confidence in one's own identity and virtues is the single most important thing for the proliferation of a nation and it's people. Losing this confidence is what has turned Europe into shit. Having lost confidence in our roots opened the doors to muslim immigration, and what is worse, to the muslim apologists on the left. The demoralization of a culture is a very dangerous thing and possibly the first step towards doom. In that sense I don't see anything wrong with their behaviour.

I don't think that was the point of that guy's post. I took it to describe the neocon outlook that the US is "the indispensable nation," and must therefore "intervene" in every conflict and create conflicts with countries like Russia in order to expand its influence.
