I don't know if or how we could get a middle ground, though, considering people relocate all the time for work or school or preference or whatever. I literally packed my life up into my car and drove it off to a different state at one point, which was pretty rad.

I didn't even have to become a permanent resident to pay taxes and all that kind of stuff. But I wound up doing it anyway after deciding I liked it better and would be staying for a while.
