it's tax/gross not tax/net. otherwise if you made 10000 gross, paid 5000 in tax, and took home 5000 your method would report a 100% tax rate.

Where do you think comes gross from? It comes from your work. If you your employer pays you 5.2k and you are given 3k then somebody steals you 72% of money you make.

Remember that Austria kept the Bismarck Versicherung (one state insurance for everyone), while our "socialists" privatized our insurance companies. Now Austria pays less for health insurance, while Germans pay for marketing and overhead. Socialists are just capitalists that use the state to protect themselves from competition.
