Love or hate his politics, his observations on the current system are totally spot on. His strength is making connections between historical and political events whilst perhaps he lacks a firm ideology for how things should be run (aside from more regulations on state and private powers)

That's complete bullshit. Like any leftist he pontificates about things he doesn't understand. Hell, in the video you linked he describes the American healthcare system as "privatized and unregulated". The American healthcare system is heavily regulated, and huge swaths of it (via medicare, medicaid, the VA, etc.) are publicly funded or publicly run. Chomsky is just a withered old leftist who can't accept that the cultrual revolution he helped lead in the 1960s has failed utterly.
