I've got a Russian friend. Great guy, usually very intelligent and wise, but not when it comes to politics and history. He's a Christian Communist (oxymoron?) who thinks the Soviet Union was the greatest nation on Earth and that Lenin was the greatest leader of all time. This guy denies the mass murders, the Gulags, the oppression and slaughter of millions of Christians, etc. Of course he also denies the Holodomor. According to him, nothing of this happened. The Soviets dindu nothing.
Granted, no Jews had any form of control in the Soviet Union according to him and if I bring that subject up he just calls me a brainwashed Nazi. Facts have no effect on him, because he doesn't trust Western facts. They're all made up to make the USSR look bad. He thinks Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was an evil traitor and a liar who should burn in hell.
How do you argue against this kind of person? Many Russians I know are exactly the same as this guy when it comes to politics and history. They're completely brainwashed.
So yeah. Can we maybe get a Russia hate thread going?

Because Russians are incapable of logical thinking. Their whole country (except 3-4 major cities) are living in the 19th century. Instead of going to school, Russian youth commits to crime and learn all the valuable life lessons in prison. If you met any Russian and asked them if they have anyone from their family who's been in prison, 98% of the time they will say yes.
When Russians are asked about their opinion on Putin and his leadership, they will unanimously claim he is the best, without giving any solid argument as to why.
