It's a complicated issue to try and find the balance between freedom and practicality.
People should have the freedom to do as they wish but if 95% of the population decided to one day commit suicide, that would not be very conductive to our society. We would probably lose our current level of technological process and go back a century or two.

I think you are overly zealous with the view that pot smokers are lazy to a societial fault. In legal states, that shit costs money (~$100-300/month habit) and this means majority of users must have a form of income. Its rare for people to spend that much money if its parent stipends and certainly EBT niggers already have bigger issues than just smoking pot in the afternoon (like 3 kids by the age of 25), assuming they could afford it. The argument could be that future generations would be conditioned to achieve less in life since they are content at a young age due to weed, but thats a stretch and "fuck you, im an adult" argument kicks in.

Furthermore, legalization would grant the society to reap the benefits of an once blackmarket commodity. Like, Colorado recently passed a milestone of $1B raised for the school system purely from marijuana taxation.
