I was a very happy kid. My unmarried, irreligious parents split up when I was 10 and I was moved across the country into a ghetto with my mom. I started becoming very angry and I lashed out at society by going goth and vandalizing shit all the time, and I was led by people like TheAmazingAtheist and Marilyn Manson into a complete rejection of all religion, Christianity especially. I dropped out of high school and had 2 kids out of wedlock with another atheist at age 18 and my whole life was a disaster. Soon after, my gf (baby momma) left to live with her dad and I constantly had to fight her over time with the kids. I sought some meaning and solution to my problems by checking out my nearest Masonic lodge which gave me lots of questions about the esoteric aspects of spirituality and mysticism and I eventually became a philosophical Christian, but I constantly shifted between that and gnostic Luciferianism. As I began applying Christian teachings to my life, it started getting better and I began to develop a genuine faith. I continued that path until I became a full Christian and I have since denounced Masonry and repented of all my old ways. Now I live with my gf and kids, we have everything we could ever need and are happy together, and my gf and I leaning in the direction of getting married soon.

None of this would have happened without the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I used references from philosophy to create a non-christian analogy that we could both work with, since you don't care for Christianity much. The point I intended to illustrate still stands and you didn't address it: you don't like the way Christians talk to each other because you don't appreciate the depth of the concepts that underlay that speech. I don't know what you value, but chances are very high that some of your highest values are derived from a line of thinking that did indeed evolve from Christian virtues.

Do you think individuals are valuable in themselves? Do you think truth is absolute and not self-contradictory or relative? Do you think the family is the building block of civilization? Do you think child marriage is wrong?

The West adopted and cultivated this mentality out of Christianity and its teachings. I don't need to be some pretentious theology major to understand the history of the formation of Europe and how Christianity affected it's development. Also, Christianity is more Hellenistic than Semitic, and Jesus's teachings are the reason so many European rulers rejected jewish practices like infant circumcision, which is no more barbaric than the human sacrifices which took place in Nordic or Germanic pagan ceremonies.
