Can I call myself a proponent of the free market, allow both coal and natural gas a time to shine, while believing that the more efficient gas will win out in the end? Liberals seem intent on the absolute destruction of certain industries, but this is a degenerative action that will lead to misery. Therefore, why not allow all markets to clash and see who comes out on top? or are the fossil fuels so destructive in there forces that the likes of China won't be hit with consequences for their actions, but the U.S., generally seen for their pioneering efforts in industry will.

There is literally no benefit to coal over natural gas. The only way coal will survive is to export it to other countries to burn.
