I think what separates Spencer from most of the e-celebs who make up the modern alt-right is that Spencer actually has formal academic training in European culture. He studied English Literature and Music at UVA, and has an MA from the University of Chicago - both of those schools are among the best in the country.

The reason that Cernovich, Milo, and the other alt-light figures don't have staying power is that they don't have the same kind of intellectual chops. Cernovich went to a shitty law school and doesn't practice, Milo dropped out of college. Although they may offer valid critique of CNN and other elements of mainstream culture, they will never actually be able to build an ideological movement like Spencer because they don't have that same intimate knowledge of Western culture that Spencer does. This knowledge adds context to his political philosophy. The alt-light can only oppose things - never create or even offer constructive criticism (see the reluctance to criticize Trump for Syrian airfield debacle). In the place of culture, they have capitalism, which left unchecked lends itself to sycophants (like Loomer and Posobiec) and degenerates (like Milo and McInnes).

One of the biggest problems of the conservative movement is its rejection of culture. You can't claim to love western society if you don't care for its literature, music, architecture, and other integral parts of its culture. Culture precedes political philosophy, and as long as you faggots keep pushing 'muh STEM' the liberals are always going to set the tone for our society.

Spencer is a step in the right direction.

Problem with Spencer is that he relies heavily on others to grow his movement. All he does is sit around attacking everyone right of him to gain popular support that never comes from the right infighting. He's not a person who has successful/significant attacks to leftists. He's not seeking office or any significant bearings on anything happening in the political or legal scene. Most of his speeches address the need for a unique white identity. As an expert on European culture, he is very qualified to speed on this issue. This identity will be the foundation for other changes to come.

If he did as you wanted him to and started branching substantively into other areas, he'd be out of his depth. I understand you might not agree with his personal positions on certain political issues (like guns, personal liberty, etc.), I don't either. But it's clear that he really only focuses his public remarks on one issue: white identity. His comments on that are useful.

Spencer studied identity, he speaks on identity. Taylor studied genetics and mostly speaks about genetics. There's nothing wrong with someone staying in their lane. In fact, when people don't stay in their lane they are prone to regurgitating popular or poorly thought opinions.

As for my ideology, the alt-right label describes it quite well, I'm a white nationalist who doesn't particularly care about the economic side of things because I don't believe it's important right now and think whites can work with pretty near anything. I disagree with Spencer on parts (I'm not a pan-europeanist for example), I agree with him on others.
