I miss the good old days, before /pol/ even existed.

People posted here from all walks of life, like it is now, but the posts were funny. The humor hadn't been used up yet. The memes that we invented hadn't gone mainstream yet. Everyone wasn't cynical and depressed, but rather 'sarcastically optimistic'.
