How do free market defenders explain current economies where government spending makes up a large part of GDP and the desire for it in developed countries only seems to be increasing.
Do you think education and healthcare need to be deregulated once and for all? I think education is easier to criticise. What an arrogant monopoly.

You can only have a monopoly when the government is involved

Greed isn't part of capitalism it is the disease that ruined it

that fish is clearly about to evolve legs
What is a fish pond if not a free market? Are there fish bureaucrats to regulate the number of small fish that the big fish are allowed to eat?

A fish pond IS free market!
Whoever made this comic is clinically retarded

Present day is skewed relative to history as we are living in the QE-era of global finance, with central banks around the world dumping a cumulative $19T into financial markets since 2008. This has led to asset price appreciation (the bernanke wealth effect) and upper class citizens with brokerage accounts or 401k's see some decent income. The problem is that the lower half don't see anything.
That combined with the artificial suppression of interest rates that has occurred as a result of global CB QE, has destroy fixed income returns. Pension funds especially are fucked. This means that retirees and anyone living on fixed income is facing tougher and tougher conditions.
But I digress. The current economic paradigm is fucked. The unprecedented government intervention in 2008 saved the global financial system from ruin but also began embedding massive amounts of risk within the system.
The US Fed is already beginning to perform reverse QE by reducing the size of its balance sheet holdings. The central banks of the developed world will follow suit over the next few years.
What will happen when the primary driver of asset appreciation for the last 8 years not only stops flowing but goes into reverse?

>gov spending
you can't be this stupid can you?

I know the difference but I meant: How can they explain the desire for more government spending when it is spending by central planners and not private entities with actual needs?

kys commie, greed or self interest is a big part of capitalism the only problem is goverment regulating and preventing small companies to form and provide the product for a lower price
