I'm sure there are many levels to this that most don't know about. Supposedly plans for a pipeline are on the table too. But then there is also economic tension between Russia US and China that started this whole thing off. Then there is the fact that Libya was trying to foster gold backed currency and the US didn't want that. It's a clusterfuck. I'm sure in the end it's mostly about puppets
