Traveling to work just depends where you work. Entertainment around my area generally consist of doing outdoor stuff like hunting, fishing, hiking, swimming, etc. Most people spend their money on buying things like boats and off road vehicles. It's pretty common for people to own boats to carry to the lake and chill all day drinking beer and being social.

And sports are huge in the south... people love going to sports games and watching football during the fall with friends and family. Most of those football movies they make are always based in the south.
