Ted K had pretty interesting insights in Industrial Society and its Future. But he is an idiot if he people will engage in violent revolution for a worse living standard. Commies still exist because they think they will get a life of ease and comfort on the other side to a revolution, whereas ol Ted tells anarcho- primitivists outright that a primitive society is going to be pretty bad in a lot of ways.
The only way people abandon technology is a blackswan event like a massive plague, nuclear war, or a Carrington Event solar storm.
