Great news. That means we can guiltlessly round up the thirty or forty million illegal aliens present here on U.S. soil, that got here by hopping the border or overstaying their visas, and ship them back to their nation of origin in the blink of an eye.

You really have no idea what you are talking about. Robotics and AI are already replacing thousands of jobs in the form of driverless and automated transportation within labs and warehouses, and some markets already have large driverless car transportation markets and the field is still in it's infancy. AI based sorting/packaging machines are already used in Amazon and other large warehousing locations.

We are not even 10 years into having marketfacing and capable multi-purpose AI and it is already taking low skilled work, with white collar work right around the corner.
>>
>>132789155
So if a lot of people are losing their jobs, why import more of them? Especially since the jobs being lost are low skill (for now) and the people immigrating are generally low skill. Really makes you think.

Sales is good if you're a good salesmen who can bend to new trends and products easily, but most people don't have that gift. I knew a guy that would sell super expensive vacuums to poor people. They would shell out the money for them, because that was their nice "toy" instead of a nice car or TV. He also sold roofing and facilitated contracting work for house and roofing damage. There are always storms, insurance payments, and messes to clean. Also protip from him: never do repairs in black places, because blacks spend all the insurance money on TVs and rims and shit and try to jew you out of payment.

>the right messing up education
Not at all. It's the leftists messing with common core and not allowing kids in poor overflowing areas to go to school in better areas. You'd think they'd be all for it with their leftist socialist/marxist ideals of redistribution to the poor. The only thing that hard right people want is the freedom to teach abstinence only and not teach evolution. Frankly, evolution is a ridiculously tiny portion of a high school education as it is, and if they want to ignore it in their municipality in their district in their state I think they should have the freedom to leave it out. Sex education should not be mandated by the feds or state in my opinion. Most every where now teaches both safe sex and abstinence and if they are creationist teach both evolution theory and divine creation or whatever it's called. So all in all, the right lost their causes and just want the federal government to fuck the fuck off, allow them freedom in their state and municipality, get rid of common core, and some want to allow the poor kids to join a voucher program (they do already in some places).

Automation, objectively, creates jobs by increasing efficiency and production.

The problem isn't that automation is taking jobs, the problem is that people aren't creating new jobs. When the plow was invented the people who didn't have to work on tilling the fields moved into other jobs. Instead, now we have a bunch of people sitting around and taking gibs.
>>
>>132789155
Automation creates new jobs, all that's needed is for the people to follow the trends rather than fight them.

The major examples of automation replacing low paying jobs are self driving cars and automated cashiers.

The self driving cars are nothing but a meme. The cars tested today aren't allowed to exceed a fairly low speed limit of about 30 mph and it'd be difficult for many people to want to trust them on a highway when driven alongside cars with humans in them. The only automated cars could work is if you had everyone using an automated car, which won't happen any time soon. There's still people annoyed about the computers put into cars since it makes it more difficult to repair a vehicle yourself.

The automated cashiers have been done in grocery stores for years for the "self checkout" lines. They still fuck up constantly and take ages for people to use, so stores still employ human cashiers. A place like McDonald's only has to take in the order then fill it with someone in the back that still is cooking up the frozen fries and cooking those burgers.

McDonald's has tried for years to find how it could automate the cooking and failed, why would this change? It might become economically feasible if those cooks were normally getting $20-$30 an hour, but no one is suggesting that would happen.
>>
robots can't compete with outsourced labor, this is why china has seen exports grow 90% since 2000 but there isn't a similar increase in demand for robotic manufacturing

fact is capitalism inherently demands wage slavery over automation, which is why the only automated industry in America is food production as it is subject to a high degree of trade protectionism

For the top percentile of individuals capable of taking an engineering degree or IT certs. Generously assuming an IQ of 115 is, at a minimum, what passes for "good college material" and that the population is normally distributed with mean=100 and SD=15, this means ~84% of all individuals categorically lack the cognitive skills to even be TRAINED to do he sort of jobs that will come with automation. The issue is not the shortage of work automation will produce, it is the already existing barriers to employment it will intensify.

Most people today are unfit to take apart and rebuild a toaster, let alone a robot. This isn't a matter of motivation or interest, either. We're living in an information economy and those whose brains keep pace better are reaping inordinate rewards.

Just a cursory search about how these things operate show how bullshit these stories of these industries facing automation are.

Even the idea that you could automate line cooks is just so damn silly. There are so many tiny steps in cooking that you'd have to watch for that it'd be ridiculous to imagine creating a machine that could do it, especially a machine that would be cheaper than an employee.

Oh no Gents looks like the cotton mill is going to put every spinner out of work we must stop this automation.

Automation means increased productivity which means more wealth. When has efficiency ever been a bad thing?

Yes some people will be forced to move into other areas which their labour is more efficient.

If increased efficiency is bad why don't we all use horses because the automobile put the stable man out of work.

This cartoon is just deflection based on bullshit. It not the immigrants it's the robots goy. Automation is bad immigrants are good.don't fall for it

Why would you need an IQ of 115 to service a machine?

Other than that how can there ever be a shortage of work. Technology only creates more opportunities for employment. Yes some people will have to change fields but here isnt a fixed amount of work to be done. Those whos jobs are taken will have to find a new skill for themselves to market. Might take a while but the increased efficiency from automation isnt a bad thing. If increased efficiency/tech is bad then why don't we all revert to the stone age. Imagine how many jobs it would create.

In 1760 England there were 7900 people engaged in the production of cotton textiles. A parliamentary inquiry found 27 Years after the invention of the cotton spinning machine there were 320,000 involved in cotton textiles production. Yes the spinners were replaced but the increased productivity allowed the industry to flourish and Inot turn employ more people.

(((They))) tell you it's for a declining birth rate and ageing population.

The real reason is that virtually all of the native population is debt saturated and thus will more than likely not make major purchases with (((loans))). Since the people are reluctant to take on more debt, the economy no longer grows since we have a debt based economy.

Enter the millions of third worlders who are blank slates economically and you have a lot of happy merchants.

Look at how the increase in efficiency and profitability has manifested itself in worker pay versus ceo pay over the last 40 years. Why should any non ceo trust further efficiency ?

Nope. The left importing uneducated masses is fucking up education.

My gf is a teacher and even anchor babies are pretty retarded because their parents quite often can't even read or write IN SPANISH, nevermind in english.

What happens? Schools spend more catering to the special needs of those students and even then any progress the entire class could make is fucked up.

But yeah keep blaming the right.

Human desires are infinite, people will always have something they're willing to pay others to do even in the age of robots. You may get paid pennies, but robots will lower costs to such an extent that this won't matter. Remember, money is made mass producing things for mass consumption by plebs, the only way we're going to have 60% unemployment is if the government lowers the incentives to work and raises those for leisure or things are so cheap that people no longer need to work to have the cash necessary for a normal standard of living.

So, do you college libertarian types legitimately, honestly, ferreals actually think that the quality of life in this country hasn't improved in the last fifty years? Or even the last twenty?

It's funny because white collar jobs are going to be much more automated than blue collar ones. Hell even shit like graphic design / web design which was the "hot" field to get into back in 2005 is starting to get fucked. My company used an online website where you browse people to do a task (create your website or do graphic design shit). The problem is 90% of them are Indians willing to do the job for $5 compared to westerners expecting $15-20 an hour.

There's already online shit replacing accountants, secretaries, even lawyers.

Hard to replace someone going to a specific location and manually evaluating a situation / task, gathering the required materials, preparing them, installing them, and checking them.

Most trade jobs aren't industrial anymore. They're mostly residential / commercial.
