Depression is a phenomenon in the first world, where people have time to be depressed because they aren't working their bodies into early deaths. It would make sense that the people who tend to have the easiest lives in the world are more likely to have depression.

Their peer group will have some high achievers because they are rich people with lots of resources. That is who they compare themselves to.

Women in particular have this idiotic idea that they need to "have it all". They need a successful career, a happy family, and a husband that exceeds their own social standing. And as I mentioned above, they compare themselves to the 1 percent of women who achieved all those things, not the 99 percent who didn't.

Casually fly to london for the weekend and come home to have a US senator in your house or talk to a celebrity in box seats at a tennis match....

Literally nothing these girls have to work for in their lives, the things they have been exposed to spoil everything else.
