What are /pol/'s thoughts on Viktor Suvorov?
TL;DR:
>former Soviet military intelligence officer
>Suvorov has written ten books so far about the outbreak of the Nazi-Soviet War in 1941 and the circumstances that led to it.
>According to Suvorov, Stalin planned to use Nazi Germany as a proxy (the “Icebreaker”) against the West.
>For this reason Stalin provided significant material and political support to Adolf Hitler, while at the same time preparing the Red Army to “liberate” the whole of Europe from Nazi occupation.
>Suvorov argued that Hitler had lost World War II from the very moment he attacked Poland: not only was he going to war with the powerful Allies, but it was only a matter of time before the Soviet Union would seize the opportune moment to attack him from the rear. This left Hitler with no choice but to direct a preemptive strike at the Soviet Union, while Stalin's forces were redeploying from a defensive to an offensive posture in June 1941.
Shameless self-bump

Suvorov said it himself that his facts were weak to begin with and that most of this work was based on assumptions and connecting vague dots.
The defensive line being built was probably the Stalin line, which is kind of like the Siegfried/Maginot line except so huge with was impossible to defend.
The plans found to invade Germany/European countries is as much of proof as the US having plans to invade any country in the world. That is just what you do. The Netherlands has plans on how to invade Belgium and vice versa.

I love how he uses official Soviet statements and documents to prove his points.
and "communism must either rule the entire planet or it will fail" sorta idea (that Lenin and Stalin realized very well) behind Soviet Union that Suvorov stated.
His arguments are too strong for me to not buy in.

Strassburg/Kehl. its on the German border.

No shit it was a pre-emotive strike, largest conflict ever as well. If Hitler had made a few decisions a little differently then he could have won the Axis-Soviet war.

Essentially USSR provoked Gemany to attack them by betraying the Mol-Rib Pact and offering military help to Czechoslovakia

Read his books and I agree with him. Not because of the facts he presents (they're good nonetheless) but because that's how geopolitics work - you must be stupid to not expect a state like the Soviet Union to not attack Germany sooner or later. It was not an "if" but "when" question.
Also, I recommend you watch this topic being explained by the man responsible himself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6o84NU9Ees

I think he's a meme. Full disclosure, I'm a Russian guy from Latvia and Russian-language literature is usually of low opinion of him. Of course, official "historians" rabidly denounce him as a traitor and conspirologist. But even some alternative guys have problems with some of his claims and methodology.
