Forget for a second that MAD has done more for world peace than any treaty. Who's giving up their boom booms first, /pol/?

None of the nine countries that possess nuclear weapons -- the United States, Russia, Britain, China, France, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel -- took part in the negotiations.
Even Japan -- the only country to have suffered atomic attacks, in 1945 -- boycotted the talks as did most NATO countries.

I'm in total agreement that MAD was one of the most peaceful things to ever happen. The Cold War would easily have turned into a massive land war were both sides not pointing so many nukes at each other.
Yet those days are over. We're only one ISIS away from world peace. No other wars currently going on in the world aside from the odd minor skirmish or stalemate.
Nukes are basically pointless and dangerous in a modern world. They'll never be used and if they are it wouldn't be worth it. Just bin them and move on.
