The only reason you helped "liberate" us during the war was because the allied forces wanted to make sure the right people and groups got the glory in order to capitalize on it politically, the only reason the occupation ended like it did was because of the Swedish police militia on the other side who gave written warnings that they would move in if Norway needed it and we had already liberated the northern part on our own.

China is really, really big. That does give it disproportionate power for everything they do effectively, or even just do at all. But it's also a very broken country in many ways that you never really hear about. Systemic corruption, unwieldy bureaucracy, extensive cronyism, and extreme wealth disparity all exist there on a scale few here can really imagine (Indians excepted). They will be a force to be reckoned with, but their internal issues are going to keep bubbling up over time.
