OT rules against racemixing for the Jews is 100% true. Jews aren't supposed to mix and mingle (but they did it anyway and it inevitably fucked them over). When you're touting that Christians shouldn't race mix because of laws for Jews it's replacement theology. God still has a plan for the Jews, and it's not necessarily one filled with rainbows and butterflies, but it still exists. The same rules don't have to be applied to us, but it's smart to follow them anyway.

I think thats the point of the passage, they didnt have polyester blends back in the day. garments made in that fashion would have likely fallen apart, much like people of mixed heritage are usually dysfunctional in some form or fashion.
