Hey guys, Rei9n here.
How does anyone seriously believe in any religion (Christianity is mostly what I am referring to throughout this post, but some points may apply to multiple religions)?
If you need a fairy tale full of lies about holy beings and magic to help guide your life, you aren't a true man.
A true man works hard to develop a moral compass and works hard physically to achieve what he wants. These are the men that truly get by.
If you believe that entertainment is evil and the "Devil" creates these things to mind wash children, just because the church says so, guess who is really mind washed?
So, think long and hard about your beliefs. Are you free, making your own choices in life being guided only by your mind, or are you herded to make choices by the church like a slave?

Would you kindly fuck off?

Nope. You didn't have to click this post if you didn't want to.

I love Jesus.
We fought yeah, but...
He said some bad things last night, so I had to sock Him one. We got into it
He came in drunk out of his mind.
So I slapped him down.
>A true man works hard to develop a moral compass and works hard physically to achieve what he wants
Yeah cause this is what comes to mind when I think of atheists. Definitely this and not DYEL hedonists and crypto-christians who pretend their morals aren't rooted in 2500 years of Western and Christian tradition

My morals are rooted in what I believe-sure, I don't just go around killing people because I want to, but I occasionally walk onto other people's property or take a small amount of money, and I am not always kind to people I see undeserving of my kindness.

> I don't just go around killing people because I want to
So why do you do it? are you getting good pay?
>>132686037
Ha, more because I feel removing people from existence is not something that I should do.
I haven't met some people ;-)

Buddhism is my moral framework but I don't allow it to dictate my entire life. I use it in conjunction with studying the works of philosophers such as Nietsche, Jung, and Kafka, to guide me.

I'm Mormon. We see discipleship to Jesus Christ as a kind of apprenticeship - not slavery.
>>132687727
Apprenticeship my ass. Just because you are someone apprentice does not mean you need their guidance in daily life. And also, you base your whole damn life around him.

Relativism always beat absolutism.
That's what you need to understand.
Regardless of if there is a god or not.
You're not a genius dude, I thought like you at 12.
But it's more complicated than that.

Fuck.
I don't see why you get to dictate what defines a 'true man', m8. Or decide why and how people live their lives. If somebody needs religion to get through the day or a visit from a priest to die with a clear mind and a smile on their face, let them. You don't have the authority to deny them this.

I don't like this thread, but don't you realize that /pol/ does that all the fucking time? So do feminists, so does a lot of people. Many, many people think they can define what a 'true man' is based on whatever is convenient to them at the time. I need to remind you that /pol/ is also guilty of this.
I agree with the rest of what you typed though. Saged.
